Top 10 Britney Songs You Forgot Were Awesome

Welcome to MsMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the songs by Britney Spears that don’t get quite as much love as they deserve

#10: “Can’t Make You Love Me”

“Oops!... I Did It Again” (2000)
The title song from Britney’s “Oops!” album is the undeniable showstopper here; however, we’re very “Lucky” that it’s not the only song worth our attention by a longshot. Britney cited “Don’t Let Me Be the Last to Know” as one of her favorites, which shows off a softer, heartfelt side. Then there’s “Can’t Make You Love Me,” a bop that contrasts with many of the album’s high-energy tracks. It adds emotional range to an album full of pop bangers, giving listeners a glimpse of a Britney we didn’t always get to see. Its universal themes of heartbreak and rejection, paired with her delivery, make it easy to connect on a personal level.

#9: “3”

“The Singles Collection” (2009)
“3” is one of those tracks that shows off the singer’s sexy, sassy side. Written by Max Martin and Shellback, it brings cheeky, flirty lyrics to a melody that’s downright catchy. It’s upbeat and playful, and Britney’s autotuned vocals give it that cool, futuristic energy that makes it impossible not to get hooked. The minimalist music video highlights her magnetic showmanship and iconic dance moves, making it even more alluring. Even though it topped the Billboard Hot 100, it somehow gets lost in the shuffle of her bigger hits. But with its irresistible hook, infectious beat, and Britney’s playful charm, “3” is still one of her boldest and most fun tracks.

#8: “Ooh Ooh Baby”

“Blackout” (2007)
According to producer J.R. Rotem, Britney went into the “Blackout” album aiming to stay ahead of the pop curve, and this track shows it. Inspired somewhat by Nelly Furtado’s “Promiscuous,” “Ooh Ooh Baby” exudes sensuality with a smooth, sultry vibe that makes you want to move. The lyrics are flirtatious and seductive, and Britney’s delivery is flawless. The production has this dreamy, hypnotic quality that grabs you instantly and keeps you there. Britney definitely doesn’t leave much to the imagination here, either! The song’s got that perfect mix of confidence and charm, making it one of her best-hidden gems. She didn’t come to play, but she most certainly came to slay.

#7: “Till the World Ends”

“Femme Fatale” (2011)
Teaming up again with the legendary Max Martin, Britney dropped this Europop dance track that proves she’s not just a pop princess but a dance anthem queen. It gives us electrifying beats, an unforgettable chorus, and Britney at perhaps her most empowered. The song makes you want to stop everything and just dance. It probably even takes you back to your clubbing days, dancing among the masses who are going just as hard as this song deserves. If there was ever a track for Britney to reclaim her pop princess crown—only this time, a more bedazzled version—this was it. We don’t know about you, but we’ll definitely keep playing this track “Till the World Ends.”

#6: “Man on the Moon”

“Glory” (2016)
While Britney’s 2013 album “Britney Jean” didn’t exactly light the charts on fire, her follow-up in 2016 saw the singer come back in a blaze of “Glory.” Songs like “Man on the Moon” took the elements we loved from her earlier works but now with a more mature edge. Using space imagery, she sings about longing for a loved one, and the emotion in her voice feels like it could reach the moon and back. It’s a softer side of Britney, with a romantic, dreamy vibe as she imagines being reunited with her love. Another hidden gem on “Glory” is “Just Luv Me.” Trust us, give it a listen—you’ll just luv it.

#5: “Get Naked (I Got A Plan)”

“Blackout” (2007)
During her “Blackout” era, Britney was a new mom, expecting again and facing intense public scrutiny. Critics focused more on her personal struggles than her music, but with nothing left to lose, she embraced total freedom in the studio. It allowed her to experiment and create something unique. The result was a track that stands out as undeniably iconic. While the lyrics aren’t groundbreaking, the funky dance melody and the hypnotic repetition of the few words we hear make it a timeless dance floor hit. It’s a song that shows off Britney’s boldness and creativity in a fresh way. Talk about silencing the critics and making fans scream, “Gimme More!”

#4: “Let Me Be”

“Britney” (2001)
This album is packed with underrated treasures that deserve way more attention. “Cinderella” is a bop, while “Lonely” is an empowering banger. Yet, for us, “Let Me Be” stands out. It’s a pop track with a twist that absolutely oozes attitude. If you’re after a confidence boost—and a major middle finger to the haters—this is the track you need. Britney’s 2001 album was her way of shouting to the world that she was growing up, and “Let Me Be” was the perfect anthem to leave the critics in the dust. With its simple production, her raw emotion takes center stage, making it feel real, fresh, and unlike anything else in her catalog.

#3: “Touch of My Hand”

“In the Zone” (2003)
If her eponymous album signaled her growth, this one marked her full transition from girlhood to womanhood. “Touch of My Hand” was the first song created for the album, one where Spears had more creative input. She described it as bringing “balance” to the album, saying, “We just went there.” The melody’s Eastern influences make it unmissable among the dance-heavy, attitude-filled tracks that dominate the album. In it, Britney confidently celebrates the joys of self-pleasure, sending a powerful message that there’s no shame in enjoying your own company. This album offers a buffet of genres, with tracks like “Don’t Hang Up” showcasing yet another side of her artistry.

#2: “Unusual You”

“Circus” (2008)
Britney wanted to come out of “Blackout” with something “a little bit lighter,” and as she says in the title track, “Well, baby, I'm a put-on-a-show kind of girl” —and she certainly did! But hidden among the album’s big singles is “Unusual You,” a track that beats with emotion. It’s so different from the other songs on the album, with its haunting, almost ethereal feel. The production is smooth and dreamy, and Britney’s delivery is raw, showing a side of her that doesn’t get much air time elsewhere. We get vulnerability with lyrics that describe a love that’s anything but typical but still totally captivating. Honestly, it’s wild this song wasn’t a single—it’s one of her most mesmerizing tracks!

#1: “Born to Make You Happy”

“...Baby One More Time” (1999)
You don’t keep your spot as Britney’s most successful album without packing in so many awesome tracks. It “Drives [Us] Crazy” that “Sometimes” some of Britney’s early hits get forgotten, and honestly, “From the Bottom of [Our] Broken [Hearts],” we wish they’d get more love! “Born to Make You Happy” is one of those songs that deserves so much more credit. At the time, it was a risque move for her teen pop idol image, but it’s a beautiful glimpse into her growth. The lyrics might not be the most progressive, but they carry this vulnerability, which just hits differently. Its smooth, lush production takes you straight back to Britney’s golden era. It’s pure, nostalgic pop that makes us happy whenever we hear it.
