They make us happy with their own happily ever afters. In this video, MsMojo counts down our picks for the Top 10 Disney Couples.

For this list, we're taking a look at the most romantic ballads from Disney's animated library.

Special thanks to Alex Crilly-Mckean, mac121mr0, Scotty Arbour, Soorki, BDenum100, Tyreke Andrei Irreverre, Brandon Andujar and Nawaf Al-Ajmi for submitting this idea on our interactive suggestion tool at http://www.MsMojo.tv.

#10: Mickey & Minnie Mouse
“Mickey Mouse” franchise (1928-)

The original Disney couple had to make it to our list somewhere and what better spot than the opening! Mickey and Minnie seem less like a traditional Disney pair in that they’re closer to a married couple rather than just two lovebirds courting each other, and they have been shown in a number of different circumstances together since the late ‘20s. Did you know that while he was still alive, Walt Disney voiced both Mickey and Minnie? No wonder they had such great chemistry!

#9: Simba & Nala
“The Lion King” (1994)

They’re the future King and Queen of Pride Rock, and one of the sweeter couples on this list. Meeting first while they were merely lion cubs, Simba and Nala laughed off the idea of ever being together despite being ‘betrothed’ way back when. As adults, their romance grows and matures, and is even soundtracked by a classic Elton John love song. This isn’t puppy love; it’s love of a more royal and feline persuasion.

#8: Rapunzel & Flynn Rider
“Tangled” (2010)

They say love can bloom at first sight, but here it’s more like with the first hit of a frying pan. Romance slowly blossoms between the angelic eighteen year old and her con artist protector and ultimately reaches its peak on a song-filled boat ride. An endearing aspect about their relationship is the way their insecurities and fears match up together, allowing Rapunzel and Flynn to bring out the best in one another. It’s a natural spin on the classic hate turns into love story and that’s why we can’t look away.

#7: Fa Mulan & Capt. Li Shang
“Mulan” (1998)

When you first watch this movie, this is the couple that sticks out as seemingly the most unlikely pair. Infiltrating the Chinese army by disguising herself as a male soldier, Mulan is almost instantly infatuated with the well-built and shirtless Captain. Their playful acquaintanceship turns more trusting when the disguised princess rescues LiShang from a falling avalanche. But it’s the revelation of her true identity that seals the Captain’s fate once he realizes he hasn’t been falling for a man after all.

#6: Pocahontas & John Smith
“Pocahontas” (1995)

A drastic difference in views and nationalities looks like it will cause the death of these two and their shot at love. The story of the beautiful Native American falling in love with the English captain is etched in our minds, and it’s spectacular to watch the two understanding each other’s beliefs and lifestyles in this Disney tale, which is put on display during the “Colors of the Wind” sequence. While this is highly unlikely to have happened this way in reality, this fictional depiction of Pocahontas and John Smith is still one for the romantic dreamers in all of us.

#5: Lady & Tramp
“Lady and the Tramp” (1955)

This one is rags meeting riches in a classic Romeo and Juliet style romance. After all, one’s a street-smart pup from the wrong side of town; one’s a well-kept sweetheart who knows the finer side of life. But what we love about Lady and Tramp is the natural connection the two have with each other, and how their connection blooms delightfully over time. They’re also one of the few Disney couples to share a romantic meal together – cue the famously adorable spaghetti scene that every real-life couple has tried recreating at least once. Come on, be honest!

#4: Princess Ariel & Prince Eric
“The Little Mermaid” (1989)

We’d all like to say we’d give up a part of ourselves for another person. Well, here’s the couple that actually does it. Briefly meeting when Eric’s ship comes under a devastating storm, Ariel gives up her gorgeous voice for the chance to win his heart in just 3 days. If the two don’t fall in love, then her soul will belong to Ursula for all eternity. While it’s a scenario quite obviously not based on reality, we all know we’re watching fiction anyway - and who doesn’t love a good ticking clock for a promised relationship in their fairy tales?

#3: Cinderella & Prince Charming
“Cinderella” (1950)

Speaking of ticking clocks, this courtship really got its start right as the bell tolled midnight. The classic tale of a young stepdaughter hoping to find her prince certainly has its merits on our list. Appearing shallow on first glance – after all, how many women actually have that same shoe size? - it’s actually the chemistry and strong foundation this love was built on that helps Prince Charming seek out his lady the very next day. Now that’s making a good first impression.

#2: Belle & Beast
“Beauty and the Beast” (1991)

A romance so powerful, the very name of it is the title of the film and its theme song. Locked away in a castle to die, Belle does what any normal woman would do; develop strong attachments to her captor. Stockholm Syndrome jokes aside, it’s never explicitly said how much time this beauty and beast spend together, which leaves their relationship open to interpretation. Not only that, but both manage to earn each other’s trust and respect first before getting more romantically involved. It’s a love story so great that it helped make this musical romantic fantasy the first animated feature to be nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
- Tarzan & Jane Porter
“Tarzan” (1999)
- Anna & Kristoff
“Frozen” (2013)
- Tiana & Prince Naveen
“The Princess and the Frog” (2009)
- Snow White & The Prince
“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” (1937)
- Hercules & Megara
“Hercules” (1997)

#1: Aladdin & Princess Jasmine
“Aladdin” (1994)

They’re a match made in heaven, or in this case the Middle East - and with the help of Robin Williams! Aladdin and Jasmine manage to embody all of the best elements that make up a Disney romance, both being from two different worlds yet reflecting what the other wants out of life. Jasmine wishes she could live a life like Aladdin’s, while he thinks the opposite. Having each their own trials to overcome, both have a great understanding of each other that fuels their already synchronistic connection. Thanks to their heartfelt romance, they make the top of our Disney Couples list.
