Top 10 Diva Duets We'd Be Here For
#10: Shakira and Jennifer Lopez
Kicking things is one heck of a dream pair. Just imagine these two Latina pop stars on stage together. For starters, even though Shakira was the one that sang about them, both have hips that do not lie and killer dance moves. But more importantly, they both have amazing voices that would blend beautifully together, perhaps singing in their native tongue. Here’s a suggestion for the future, ladies: give us a duet, a dance break and some beautifully and melodically sung sweet Spanish?
#9: Miley Cyrus and Kesha
Back when these two burst onto the scene, they each had a different introduction to the public. Miley was the cute country-singing Disney enhanced pop star, and Kesha was a hard party girl. However, since the 2013 VMAs, Miley’s image has changed multiple times. But both women have always had something to say about staying true to themselves, especially in recent years with Kesha’s lawsuit and her “Rainbow” album. Can’t you just imagine the song these two could create together? It would definitely be an empowering anthem for women everywhere, and that would be just the beginning.
#8: Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson
Both of these women have experimented with different sounds throughout their careers. Taylor started as a country singer and has slowly transitioned toward pop over the years, while Kelly has tried on pop, soul, and even a little bit of country for size. Perhaps they could experiment with these different sounds within one song? Plus with Kelly’s killer range and Taylor’s lyrical ability to turn a phrase, we think that these two would just have fun in the studio and on stage together. Come on, ladies. Make this happen.
#7: Remy Ma and Cardi B
Though Cardi B’s career is still getting started and Remy Ma has been around for a little bit, we think these two would make an awesome track together. You just know this pairing would put out one song that would be impossible not to move your body to. And that's just the idea for a song we wish existed. The rhymes in their lyrics, though, could be about their personal stories of growing up in the Bronx, just how sexy they are, or both. Either way, we'd be happy to listen, dance, and sing along to this song.
#6: Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood
Shania Twain has been making country, rock, and pop music for years, giving the world memorable lyrics that are impossible not to sing along to. And not unlike Miss Twain, Carrie Underwood has helped to bring that country style into the mainstream. Their voices combined would create quite the killer tune. You know those earworms that you just can’t shake? We think this duet would bring the public one of those. And another huge positive? It would be a karaoke favorite for years to come.
#5: Adele and Sia
Can't you just hear this tearjerker already? Separately, these two have written emotionally-charged lyrics with every new single they put out. And while Sia is much more of pop sensation and Adele has a more soulful tone, it's difficult to deny that these two would make sweet music together. Put together in a studio, these ladies would create their own two-part chorus. Plus, with both of their songs being laced with personal stories and raw emotions, the pair of them would have us all sobbing by the end of that duet.
#4: Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears
Though it’s always been a little difficult to pin down their relationship, these two practically grew up together. They were both in The Mickey Mouse Club. Both blossomed into fame as female pop singers in the late 90s. They've both kissed Madonna... And while Britney hasn't always had the smoothest of rides, where Christina has kept a decent standing with the public, we still think they would make one awesome duet together. One with Christina’s soulful voice and Britney’s memorable sound. Honestly, it's surprising these two superstars haven't collaborated yet.
#3: Celine Dion and Ariana Grande
Even though we would absolutely love to hear the whistle ranges of Mariah Carey and Ariana Grande united, we had to give this dream duet with the young diva to Celine Dion. For starters, Grande loves Dion so much, she does a near perfect imitation of her, as she's proven on both SNL and while guesting on Jimmy Fallon. And Celine clearly finds the younger songstress to be a delight. As we all know, both women have beautiful voices. With both of their natural vibratos combined, that duet would bring the house down!
#2: Lady Gaga and Madonna
This particular collaboration might be a bit difficult to make happen, considering that the pair have a history of feuds. However, it is still undeniable that these two would make one killer track together. Just picture it: a dance-y backing track and their combined voices singing about anything from crummy relationships to LGBT rights. We know that their feuding is mostly due to their similar sounds, but please, ladies, put that aside and make this song happen. It would make all of us wonderfully happy, and it would definitely be a hit.
#1: Rihanna and Beyonce
You had to know Queen Bey and RiRi would take our top spot. As of 2018, there have been whispers that Rihanna and Beyonce are working on music together. Tweets put out by multiple accounts have us all crossing fingers and even toes that it is true. Both of these talented women have been making some incredible hits over the years, but only separately so far. Naturally, we can’t help but swoon over the imagined track they would put down together. That hit would definitely take number one on more than one music list.
