Number 10: Elf (2003)

A baby from an orphanage stows away in Santa's sack and ends up at the North Pole. Raised by elves, he soon discovers that he’s different from everyone else. Hoping to find his birth father he takes a trip to New York. While in the human world, he discovers that his dad happens to be at the top of Santa's naughty list.

Number 9: Ernest Saves Christmas (1991)

A lovable and bumbling redneck with split personalities attempts to help Santa Claus find a successor to carry his magical bag of goodies. What ensues is a zany adventure filled with mischievous elves and Warp-speed sleigh rides.

Number 8: Scrooged (1988)

Bill Murray is a cynical and selfish TV executive that gets haunted by three spirits and an abusive pixie on Christmas eve.

Number 7: Trading Places (1983)

A snobbish investor and a con artist find their lives reversed on Christmas Eve as part of an experiment by two devious millionaires.

Number 6: Jingle All The Way (1996)

Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a father caught up in the struggle of his life, namely, to buy his son a Turbo-Man action figure on Christmas Eve. Taking on violent crowds and a deranged mailman, he does crazy things in order to claim his prize.

In this black comedy, a cat burglar is forced to take an irritating couple and their family hostage. However, he soon discovers that they’re all extremely dysfunctional. As a result, he decides to resolve their differences while hiding from the cops.

Number 4: Bad Santa (2003)

Two conmen go on a road trip dressed as Santa and his elf. Rather than spreading good cheer, the duo plan to rob several shopping malls, before one befriends an 8-year-old who teaches him the true meaning of Christmas.

Number 3: A Christmas Story (1983)

Young Ralphie thinks that a Red Ryder BB gun is the perfect gift to find under his tree. However he runs into opposition from his parents, teacher and even Santa Claus.

Number 2: Home Alone (1990)

A little boy is accidentally left at home when his family takes a holiday vacation. For a while he enjoys himself, however burglars soon try to break in. In response, he defends his home by inflicting a world of pain and humiliation on the hapless duo.

Number 1: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)

And there’s no better way to round out our list then by taking in the Griswold’s big seasonal celebration. As you might expect, things never run smoothly for the family due to Chevy Chase’s hilarious streak of bad luck.
