Top 10 Funniest Key and Peele Skits
#10: Gay Wedding Advice
This scenario is more believable than it should be. A family is looking to get a better idea of how a gay wedding operates, so they bring in a co-worker called Gary to walk them through the process. Even though he tries to communicate that it should just be like any other wedding, the Johnson family seems to have formed an unusual vision of how things will unfold. As a result, some absurd questions arise as to the differences during the ceremony. It’s hilarious for viewers, but understandably very frustrating for poor Gary!
#9: Pizza Order
The character Wendell is a fantastically cringy character who really shined in this skit. In an attempt to not seem like he’s binging on an astronomical amount of food, he pretends like he’s hosting a party. But what Wendell didn’t expect was the guy from the restaurant falling in love with one of his fake guests, Claire. What ensues is Wendell desperately trying to deter him, but playing along so the ruse doesn’t get found out. In a last-ditch attempt to halt the lie from going any further, he fakes Claire getting shot, much to the distress of the server. It may have been a scarring moment for the characters, but it was side-splitting for us.
#8: Meegan, Come Back
Jordan Peele has played a lot of different characters, but Meegan is by far one of his funniest and most annoying. On a night out, Andre has to chase his petty and manipulative girlfriend down after she gets jealous of another woman at the bar. What results is an endless back and forth of the two seemingly giving up the chase, just for them to go back to shouting at each other. Meegan’s toxic attitude is unbearable, which is what makes the character so funny. There are a lot of situations you can explore with these characters, which is why the couple became recurring characters in the series.
#7: The Valets Love Liam Neesons
When you find someone who shares the same level of passion for movies, you know you have friends for life. Key and Peele are working as valets when they start discussing the latest Liam Neeson movies. They get really into it and start freaking out over the legendary actor, providing some hilarious reactions. And this isn’t the last you’ll see of these movie superfans, as they bring these characters back for future freakouts over the likes of Batman and Game of Thrones. It’s hysterical seeing the lengths these co-workers will go to express their love for movies and TV shows.
#6: Auction Block
These guys can create funny scenarios regardless of the topic. The comedic duo are being sold on the auction block, actively talking about how they’re going to raise hell wherever they end up. Initially, they keep their rebellious spirit, but after getting passed up by several buyers, they start feeling insecure. As they continue to be ignored, they start voicing criticisms of their fellow slaves. This leads to the trader expressing disgust with their superficiality, flipping our expectations on their head.
#5: An Insult Comic Meets His Match
Being a comedian can be a risky business, as you’re always treading the fine line between being funny and being offensive. As an insult comic, it’s even worse, as you’re specifically attacking people in good humor. So when a burn victim invites Key to insult him, he’s stunned. Peele’s character says he can take it, but Key is desperate to avoid making jokes that would cross the line into insensitive territory. Seeing Key sweat on stage as he struggles to come up with safe insults is absolutely hilarious. When he finally goes for it, it just makes the situation worse...
#4: I Said Biiii…..
These guys love a good diss sesh. While their wives are away having fun by themselves, these two start complaining about their spouses, claiming to be a lot braver than they actually are. As they explain frustrating situations, they check around and whisper in hushed tones to make sure that their other halves don’t hear them. It gets even better when the two retreat to progressively more ridiculous locations to avoid having the women overhear and call them out. In fact, this somehow leads them all the way into space.
#3: Obama’s Anger Translator
As President, Barack Obama was known for his deliberate and measured language, seldom losing his cool. But just imagine if he had. That’s where Luther comes in. No matter the situation, whether that be giving a national address or talking to his wife, Luther is there to translate how the POTUS truly feels to hilarious effect. This sketch proved so successful with viewers that not only did it receive sequels, but the real Obama used Key’s character during the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
#2: East/West College Bowl

#1: Substitute Teacher
Of all Key and Peele sketches, inner-city substitute teacher Mr. Garvey is perhaps the most quotable. As Key’s character comes in, he lays down the law, letting everybody know he’s not to be messed with. His pronunciations of common names are bordering on the absurd, but are absolutely stupendous. The students try to balance correcting their new educator with his unbridled fury, as he thinks that the kids are just screwing about. This scenario proved so popular that they followed it up with a sequel, which is just, if not more hilarious.
