VOICE OVER: Samantha Clinch WRITTEN BY: Mandy Anne Lutman
You need a killer voice to sing these songs. For this list, we'll be looking at the most technically-difficult songs we've heard from "The Voice" franchise's various iterations. Our countdown includes "Listen," "Stone Cold," "Never Enough," and more!

“Never Enough” has high notes galore, making it a perfect song for a true belter. “The Voice” had several amazing vocalists that were able to do this song justice, but the judges didn’t always turn. Jay Miah, for example, gave an outstanding performance, but no one turned. Gwen Stefani apologized for not turning, while Kelly Clarkson said Jay was born for Broadway. On the German version of “The Voice”, Claudia Emmanuela Santoso had the remaining 3 judges turn at the same time during the iconic belt. This is a hard song to sing, but some people just have the chops. Ugh, wish we were one of them.

#9: “Un-Break My Heart” by Toni Braxton

Pitchfork called it “the perfect karaoke song” but that doesn’t mean it’s something everyone can sing without any issues. Even John Legend admitted that “Un-Break My Heart” isn’t an easy song to sing. You need to show your full range — the low notes are very low while the high notes include a high D. “The Voice’s” Desz showed exactly how this song should be sung and got four chair turns to prove how good she is. Meanwhile, Olexandra from the Ukraine’s version of “The Voice” took her low tone to a new level with her outstanding rendition.

#8: “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato

If you’re a singer, there’s a good chance you have “Stone Cold” on your list of songs to sing. What makes this one stand out from the rest are the belting notes along with the vocal run at the end of the chorus. This tune really shows off Demi Lovato’s singing chops. Over the years, many singers have tried to prove they have what it takes, too. You need a big voice for this one, but Daneliya from the Ukrainian version of “The Voice Kids” floored everyone with her rendition. The tiny vocal powerhouse brought the house down, with the judges watching in complete disbelief.

#7: “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban

Over the years, singers from all over the world have tried to show off their own rendition of “You Raise Me Up.” Some were extremely successful and others not so much. It’s all in that key change at the end. But Wesley from “The Voice” in France truly stood out from the rest. Not only did he sing a beautiful version of the song, he also played piano while doing so. The judges were flabbergasted, especially when he brought out the high notes. Only two judges ended up turning, but this still remains a powerful rendition of the song.

#6: “Hurt” by Christina Aguilera

This song is the definition of “singing your heart out.” When singing “Hurt,” you have to project your emotions in order to truly bring this song to life. Lina from Germany’s “The Voice Kids” showed everyone how it’s done with her own rendition. The judges were amazed a kid was able to bring such a difficult song to life! Christiane from Norway’s version of “The Voice” was also able to do this song justice. Just look at those emotions — it’s no wonder she got all four chairs to turn! It’s not an easy song to sing, but these two singers made it look easy!

#5: “It's a Man's Man's Man's World” by James Brown

This is another classic that beautifully shows off every singer’s vocal chops. Maybe that’s why people were so impressed with Biff and Sisaundra’s battle in 2014. Both of the vocalists were powerhouses and they were able to complement each other’s voices. At the same time, they put their own twist on the song, accompanied by plenty of high notes and runs. One of the most-viewed videos of this soul track belongs to Australia’s Karise. She had all four chair turns the moment she started to sing! Her unique voice brought the house down and judges just couldn’t believe it. It was a mesmerising performance that resulted in a standing ovation from the judges.

#4: “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston

You knew this one was coming, didn’t you? Let’s be honest: if you can do justice to the high note in this song, you can pretty much do anything. One of the most-viewed performances of this tune belongs to Laura from the German version of “The Voice Kids.” She nailed the high note, leaving the judges completely amazed. “The Voice Australia” also saw a memorable performance of this song, thanks to Maddison’s emotional rendition. Her soulful voice captivated both the audience and the judges. Brace yourself for the high note on this one, it’s a big one. Goosebumps everywhere.

#3: “Listen” by Beyoncé

You know you got the chops to sing this song if Christina Aguilera nods during your performance. This is by far one of the most difficult modern songs to sing because not a lot of people have Beyonce’s vocal range. But Amber Nicole and Timyra-Joi’s battle created a beautiful rendition of this song. Both were singing their hearts out and went all out when it came to the high note. On “The Voice Kids UK,” Justine showed that big things come in small packages with her version. You don’t need to be an adult to sing a Beyoncé song, you just need plenty of talent!

#2: “Chandelier” by Sia

This is an absolute belter of a song. It’s technically challenging, with many ups and downs. The chorus is absolutely beautiful and if you can nail it, you might be able to sing practically anything. Kevin Simm from “The Voice UK” surprised everyone when he effortlessly belted out the chorus. As the song went on, he truly gave it his all. Jordan Smith’s iconic performance was also full of ups and downs as he showed off his singing talent to the judges. Gwen Stefani even said Jordan shocked her with his amazing rendition! It’s no wonder he got a standing ovation from the judges! Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. “Lovin' You” by Minnie Riperton Whistle Notes Galore “Video Games” by Lana Del Rey Challenging Low Key “Wuthering Heights” by Kate Bush Rare & Challenging Track to Sing “All By Myself” by Celine Dion Iconic Belter — Can You Handle the High Note? “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” by The Darkness Impressive Vocal Range

#1: “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen

“Bohemian Rhapsody” is a popular karaoke song, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy to sing! Because you have to deal with such a wide range of vocals, it’s almost impossible to make your rendition stand out from the original. One of the most-watched “The Voice” performances of this song belongs to Nikki, Anamaría and Angie. The trio battled it out on Colombia's version of “The Voice Teens” and they totally nailed it! They showed off their vocal ranges and beautifully complemented each other throughout the song. The girls even harmonize with each other all while trying to stand out on their own. Simply amazing!
