#10: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Over the past few years, this gem on the Adriatic Sea has seen a notable influx of travellers, and it’s not hard to understand why. Long overlooked by the international travel community, the Republic of Croatia is finally getting the attention it has always deserved. Though you’ll want to travel all around the country when you visit, the city of Dubrovnik is the real star attraction. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik is steeped in history. Spectacular beaches, a picturesque surrounding landscape, incredible architecture, a delectable cuisine and great local wine - there’s a bit of everything in this fairytale city. Seriously, it’s impossible to not enjoy yourself in Dubrovnik.

This destination isn’t for travelers on a shoestring budget, but a trip to Singapore is well worth saving up for. This city-state and island in Southeast Asia covers just 279 square miles of land, but in that space, it packs in more culture and sights than countries many times its size. Singapore is a city of contradictions - or at least improbable balance. It boasts some of the most modern architecture seen anywhere in the world, and yet it is notable for its lush green spaces.
