Top 10 Kate & Anthony Moments on Bridgerton

Top 10 Kate & Anthony Moments on Bridgerton
VOICE OVER: Emily Brayton WRITTEN BY: Isabelle Brown
Season 2 of "Bridgerton" belonged to Kate and Anthony. For this list, we'll be looking at the most romantic scenes featuring the leads of season two. Our countdown includes the hunting trip, the bee sting, the wedding, and more!

#10: Lady Danbury's Conservatory Ball
“Capitol R Rake”

Kate makes her mind up about Anthony when they cross paths at the first ball of the season. Having already met on a morning ride, Kate recognizes him before her family is formally introduced by Lady Dansbury. She overhears the viscount discussing the qualities he’s looking for in a bride and is turned off by his standards. Their following confrontation sets them at odds with one another and begins their journey from rivals to lovers. Kate’s razor sharp wit is demonstrated in this moment as she insults Anthony, but she lets it slip that she finds his smile pleasing. Although Kate and Anthony are more combative than tender at this moment, the chemistry the two have is becoming evident.

#9: The Hunting Trip
“Victory”

Kate’s intellect and talent for sport become apparent during this group outing with the men of the Ton. It’s atypical for women in the fantastically historical world of “Bridgerton” to possess Kate’s shooting and tracking skills. Despite his desires for a bride with gentle manners, Anthony can’t help but find Kate’s competitive nature attractive. When Kate insists on following a set of tracks, the two separate from the group in pursuit of the animal. The proud and independent lady is initially resistant when Anthony insists on showing her how to properly hold her gun. She eventually allows the gentleman to adjust her grip and what follows is a classic romantic trope.

#8: The Pall-Mall Game
“A Bee in Your Bonnet”

As one of the most beloved scenes from the books, we were excited to see the pall mall game depicted on screen. The Bridgerton siblings’ quick wit and competitive natures are at their best during the croquet-like sport. When the Sharma sisters are thrown into the mix, Kate fits right in thanks to her own athleticism and competitiveness, while Edwina struggles to keep up. Kate and Anthony banter more than once during the game, and their rivalry lands them both in a pit far from the others. The tone shifts from combative to playful as the two share an intimate moment covered in mud. Despite their antagonizing, Kate and Anthony’s chemistry is undeniable in this scene.

#7: The Bee Sting
“A Bee in Your Bonnet”

Based on the series of novels by Julia Quinn, the Netflix show takes a few departures from its source material. For one, it’s Anthony and not his sister Eloise who witnesses Edmund Bridgerton’s death. The oldest son is in his late teens when his father’s early demise is brought about by a honey bee. Ten years later, the outcome of Kate being stung also differs between book and television. On the page, Anthony’s reaction is witnessed by a third party and the couple is forced to get engaged. Comparatively, their interaction on screen remains an intimate moment between the two. Kate comforts Anthony as he begins to hyperventilate. It’s clear that in addition to playful banter, the two find emotional support in one another.

#6: The Wedding
“The Choice”

One moment unique to the Netflix series is Anthony and Edwina’s wedding ceremony. In the book, the viscount gets engaged to Kate before he can walk down the aisle with her sister, while the on screen story sees Anthony and Edwina make it all the way to the altar. Even as he prepares to exchange his marriage vows, Anthony can’t help but to imagine the maid of honor as his bride. When Kate accidentally drops one of her bangles during the ceremony, Kanthony’s chemistry becomes undeniable. The groom retrieves the piece of jewelry from the floor and offers it to Kate while still on his knees. This moment demonstrates that their connection is instinctual and can’t be suppressed during even the most inconvenient of times.

#5: The First Kiss
“The Choice”

After exposing their feelings for one another during the wedding ceremony, Kate and Anthony are forced to face the consequences of the fall out. The two individually wrestle with the weight of their choices until they are both summoned back to the chapel. There, the bride confronts her former fiancé and older sister. We won’t lie, Edwina deserves her moment telling off the two people who ruined her wedding. That said, we still cheer when Kate and Anthony share their first kiss after Edwina leaves. Although it’s not clear what their embrace means for the future, it’s satisfying to see the lord and lady finally give into their passion for each other.

#4: Daphne's Discovery
“Victory”

In the country for Lady Bridgerton’s Hearts and Flowers Ball, Anthony and Kate share a dance together. The viscount becomes upset when he learns his marriage to the younger Sharma sister would send the older back to India. The two continue their conversation in private and tensions continue to rise. Although they insist that they don’t like one another, their body language says differently as the two get closer and closer. Kate and Anthony are on the verge of kissing when Daphne walks in. The viscount’s sister's discovery confirms her suspicions regarding Anthony’s feelings for Kate. Although she promises to remain secretive about finding the two in a compromising position, she encourages Anthony to pursue love.

#3: The Featherington Ball
“The Viscount Who Loved Me”

This moment comes during the first successful outing for the Bridgerton and Sharma families after Anthony and Edwina’s failed wedding. Despite the risk to their reputations, Anthony and Kate engage in conversation while at the ball. When the two begin to dance together, the other guests stop so as not to be associated with the scandal. Alone on the dance floor, Kate and Anthony zone out the rest of the Ton and zero in on one another. Both Edwina and the queen publicly bless the couple, and Queen Charlotte commands her subjects to join back in. While we love to see our power couple have their reputations saved, the way Anthony encourages Kate to keep dancing is what really makes us swoon.

#2: Kate's Rescuer
“The Viscount Who Loved Me”

The rainy morning following a romantic night in the gazebo, Kate wrestles with her feelings for her sister’s ex-finacé. Despite her fear of storms, she takes off on horseback and rides into the fields. Anthony follows not far behind and witnesses Kate being thrown off her horse. As we know, Anthony is no stranger to tragedy. He is scarred not only by his father’s passing, but also his mother’s reaction to losing her spouse. His experience with his parents informs his decision to pursue a loveless marriage. Not even the viscount, though, can resist love when it appears. Although he tries to deny it, Anthony is finally forced to recognize his feelings for Kate when he is faced with the potential of losing her.

#1: A Mutual Confession of Love
“The Viscount Who Loved Me”

This rivals-to-lovers romance results in a garden proposal during the Featherington Ball in the season finale. Having overcome his engagement to her sister, the risks to their reputations, and their annoyances with one another, Kate and Anthony can finally admit to being in love. This moment varies from the source material in that Anthony and Kate get engaged embracing their feelings for each other instead of resisting them. While neither were looking for a love connection before they met, the viscount and future viscountess can no longer deny the nature of their relationship. After an entire season of watching our leads suppress their emotions, it’s satisfying to see them finally choose love.
