#10: Condom of Horror
“Killer Condom” [aka “Kondom des Grauens”] (1996)

In what is easily the craziest concept on our list, a lab-created prophylactic goes after all different types of people - and their penises. Based on a German comic, this horror-comedy sees a gay detective investigate a string of attacks on the male appendage. After the detective loses one of his testicles to the condom, he sets out on a personal mission to destroy the rubber that has caused so much pain for so many men. Who would have thought that practicing safe sex could be so dangerous?

#9: Commando Elite
“Small Soldiers” (1998)

Playtime just got real! This family action flick pits two groups of toys against each other: the Gorgonites, a group of peaceful beasts, and the Commando Elite, plastic army men who have been turned into killing machines by an advanced microprocessor. The Commandos are hell-bent on destroying each and every Gorgonite using their variety of wartime specialties. They are crazy, resourceful, and highly skilled little assassins who have to be taken seriously even if you are a full-sized human.

#8: Tyrannosaurus Rex Skeleton
“Night at the Museum” (2006)

Even after it’s been extinct for millions of years, the T-Rex apparently has the capability to tear a lowly human apart. In this fantasy comedy, one of the greatest predators ever is merely a collection of bones. Yet, that’s still enough to scare the life out of Ben Stiller’s new night guard. It turns out that this particular dinosaur only wants a bone to chase like a canine, but for a minute there it looked like Rexy might go all “Jurassic Park” on us.

#7: Killer Refrigerator
“Attack of the Killer Refrigerator” (1990)

This is the epitome of a B-movie plot: a poor refrigerator is bullied and abused by a group of teens and then slowly seeks to take its revenge on those who have wronged it. It might seem like the poor fridge would only have one method of attack – you know, shutting and closing its door – but the machine is more than capable of removing limbs and devouring its unlucky targets. This fridge is packing something much deadlier than Mom’s leftover casserole.

#6: Death Bed
“Death Bed: The Bed That Eats” (1977)

We’ve heard of being on your deathbed, but we never pictured it like this. This low budget horror flick has a hungry possessed bed as the main antagonist – and it may well have influenced the makers of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” to kill a young Johnny Depp by having him eaten up by his bed. In this 1977 George Barry film, the demon that’s created this bed has given it the ability to induce nightmares in people and ensnare them with its sheets. Even though it’s just a bed, it makes for a pretty chilling nemesis.

#5: Chess Pieces
“Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (2001)

In order to find the Philosopher’s Stone, everyone’s favorite trio of wizards must accomplish a number of tasks, including battling through a swarm of flying keys. After that, they play a game of chess against life-sized pieces that will attack should they make the wrong move. To let Harry win the game, Ron sacrifices himself to a piece that gravely injures him. It may just be a kid’s fantasy film, but those magical pawns and knights should not be messed with. Seriously, Hogwarts is lucky that the parents don’t sue.

#4: Army of Knights’ Armor
“Bedknobs and Broomsticks” (1971)

Perhaps the only inanimate objects fighting on the side of good on this list, these suits of enchanted armor clash with invading Nazi forces in the British-American musical adventure. Military garb from various time periods is reanimated and come together to play their part in preventing the Third Reich’s progression into Britain. They are completely resistant to the German attack and even toy with the Nazi forces in the process of beating them up. How did this not make it into the history books?

#3: 1958 Plymouth Fury
“Christine” (1983)

This adaptation of Stephen King’s horror novel centers on a vintage vehicle that kills a number of unsuspecting victims, and manipulates others in a way that completely alters their personalities. Christine can afford to be as brutal as she wants since she has the power of regeneration. The origins of the car are not elaborated upon in the movie, but she has a murderous intent that few human beings could match. Let’s just say, she’s one car you wouldn’t want to compete against in a death race.

#2: Robert
“Rubber” (2010)

No, it’s not another movie about a killer condom, but it’s just as absurd. This dark comedy about a killer tire named Robert is incredibly self-aware and rightly so. The idea of a tire possessing psychokinetic powers is crazy, but said tire comes across as quite a menacing foe. Robert mercilessly rolls over small animals to squash them, but if that doesn’t work, he will use his mental abilities to eviscerate anything else he fancies. Always be aware: even tires can make your head explode these days.

Before we reveal our top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
Crossword Puzzle
“Toys” (1992)
Killer Tomatoes
“Attack of the Killer Tomatoes” (1978)

#1: Chucky
“Child’s Play” franchise (1988-)

Some of the scariest characters from horror films are often children’s playthings. The eponymous Annabelle is one doll that you would definitely not want to keep lying around. However, Chucky – who has the soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray in him - is easily the deadliest doll on the market. Even though Chucky is slowly becoming human, he can withstand numerous gunshot wounds, and being burned alive. As the film series goes on, he begins to bear the scars of his various attempts to inhabit a human body once again, but his thirst for blood will never wane.
