This prophetic anthem of youth and wanderlust is one of Marshmello’s first original releases prominently featuring another artist. On the track, Noah Cyrus provides some sultry vocals that pair perfectly with Marshmello’s signature pounding beat. The addition of Ookay as a producer emphasizes the strength of the beat, while still showing the strength of Cyrus’s vocals. Despite having leaked online before the song’s official release, “Chasing Colors” is still hugely popular with over 13 million plays and counting.  

 
 

 
If you’re new to Marshmello, this is the perfect starter track. “Keep It Mello” is the artist’s way of making a formal introduction to his fans, and more importantly introducing his character. The music video accompanying the light and bouncy track gives us a glimpse into the daily life of Marshmello, which looks to be more or less par for the course for an American DJ/producer. Omar LinX is also featured on the track, with his verses helping to create that upbeat, party vibe. Critics have also praised the track for striking that ideal balance of synthy pop and late-night grime. 
 
 
 

 
A sense of humor is definitely apparent within the lyrics and title of “Find Me”. The track plays on the fact that the DJ himself can never really be found because of his infamous mask. Marshmello aims to protect the mystery he created, but also wants to give his fans plenty of bang to connect with. “Find Me” focuses primarily on the beat as very few lyrics are laid out. This is fine by us, as this is one of the most danceable songs in Marshmello’s catalog of music.
  
 

 
What’s better than a great song? A great song matched by an even greater music video!  “Moving On” may have been a huge success due partly to its comedic visuals, but the track itself is gorgeous. Featuring the classic vocal synth and a cool, melodic beat, “Moving On” is great for dancing, that is if you’re not busy laughing at his satire of other EDM artists. The video features doppelgängers of fellow DJ’s Skrillex and Slushii, and showed that despite his crazy success, Marshmello keeps it real in his music, not taking himself too seriously.
 
 

 
In the past year, Selena Gomez has gone through quite the transformation. As part of her transition from pop star to musical artist, she teamed up with Marshmello to deliver this impressive collab. “Wolves” details Gomez’s struggles in keeping a healthy relationship while in the midst of fame, and alludes to the many ‘wolves in sheep’s clothing’ that come with it.  Marshmello’s crispy beat and mellow guitars provide the perfect backdrop for Gomez’s powerful vocals, so it’s no surprise this track flew well over the 100 million mark on YouTube .


    
 
 

 
Dubbed the “Official Friendzone Anthem”, “Friends” tells a story a lot of us know all too well. Marshmello released this hit with ‘friend’ Anne-Marie in February 2018 as a teaser to his sophomore album. The track details the unfortunate task of having to keep someone in the friend zone when your feelings aren’t reciprocated. As if the title of this track isn’t already clear enough, the song literally spells it out to the receiver, chanting ‘we are F-R-I-E-N-D-S’. Being friend-zoned may hurt, but this song will no doubt ease the blow.


 




There’s nothing better than an all-around summer song that puts you in the mood for adventure in the sun and chilling with friends. That’s the nostalgic feeling Marshmello gives us in his track “Summer”. This song is unbelievably catchy, leaving you with the intense desire to grab your friends, head to the beach and catch some rays.  Adding to the likability of the track is the feature of Vine star Lele Pons as the love interest in the music video.  If Marshmello and Lele Pons falling in love doesn’t make you smile than nothing will.







 
Marshmello is an amazing artist for so many reasons. For one, he’s got the unique ability to collaborate with a wide range of artists and compliments them all so well.  Khalid, who won the award for Best New Artist at the “34th MTV Video Music Awards” teamed up with the costumed DJ for a certified banger.  “Silence” was met with such success from both critics and fans that it was nominated for a myriad of awards and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Dance Tracks.

Wrabel is the perfect addition to this quintessential pop/club dance tune with his ambient vocals. The festival-worthy track makes you want to fall in love, whether it’s with the stranger you’re dancing with at the club or the friend your blasting the song with. Written about the help a new partner can provide in healing old wounds, “Ritual” is without a doubt one of Marshmello’s finest.

Marshmello’s character is so accessible partly because his songs are extremely relatable to millennials.  A song for all the lost kids out there, “Alone” gives each listener a friend in Marshmello. It’s easy to connect to this track with its message of being lost and trying to find your way back home. It may seem sad but the beat is so catchy and uplifting that it leaves you with a sense of hope. Marshmello says he created this track as an ode to his friends back home and uses it as a reminder when he’s on the road.
