Just one more round. JUST ONE MORE ROUND! Welcome to http://WatchMojo.com and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Addictive Multiplayer Games!

Special thanks to our user “trtwatchmojo” for suggesting this topic using our interactive suggestion tool at http://WatchMojo.comSuggest

#10: “FIFA” Series (1993-)

Often disregarded as just a simple sports game, EA’s immensely popular adaptation of the beautiful game is one of gaming’s best selling titles worldwide thanks in large part to its infinitely addictive Ultimate Team mode to keep the game from ever getting stale. Placing players and jerseys behind randomized booster packs, players have to earn their favorites through sheer luck or shrewd trades to form their perfect lineups and compete in the online leagues. Even if you’re not a sports fan, the trading card ga,e aspect really scratches that gambling itch and will never let go of your wallet once the fever sets in.

#9: “Clash of Clans” (2012)

With the sheer number of people who use their phones to run every aspect of their day-to-day lives, it’s no surprise that a mobile title would find its way on our list. Not only is the popular arcade war game free-to-play, which ensures a steady stream of fresh meat for our armies, but it also locks certain upgrades and actions behind timers that strongly encourage gamers to constantly check in on their bases all day long. One of the hardest parts of keeping players invested is making sure they keep logging in, and Clash of Clans has that down to a science.

#8: “Overwatch” (2016)

Blizzard just has that incredible knack for making their games approachable, fun, charming, and unbelievably time consuming. Combining team focused combat with first-person action and a huge cast of characters each with their own unique personalities and abilities, this could be the only FPS title we play all year and we still wouldn’t get bored of it. Whether we’re riding a win-streak or want to erase the sour taste of defeat from our mouths, we’re definitely guilty of queuing up for hours on end with this one.

#7: “Diablo II” (2000)

Also in:

The 10 HARDEST Diablo IV Bosses

You know a game is good when the sequel comes out and a large portion of fans just keep plugging away at the previous entry. Such is the case with Diablo 2, which retains it’s popularity and favour with gamers long after Diablo 3 has arrived and received expansions. Sporting what many claim to be deeper RPG mechanics and a more rewarding (and lengthy) campaign, Diablo 2’s cred as an addictive property has easily been proven by the unwavering support it still admires from its fans a full 17 years after it was first released. The gameplay systems might be outdated, there might be millions of illegal accounts selling loot on the black market, but damned if it isn’t habit forming to load up on magic-find gear and do Mephisto runs until the wee hours of the morning.

#6: “Super Smash Bros.” Series (1999-)

Also in:

The Complete History of Super Smash Bros.

Nintendo’s fast-paced fighter still holds a permanent place in our gaming rotations. The series has continued to swell over the years to provide a huge amount of characters, items, unique move sets, and of course, the ability to play online so you don’t have to keep bringing your friends over. Easy to pick up but hard to master, this is a series anyone can play whether they’re looking for a quick laugh between buddies or to improve their combo game in their quest to be the best.

#5: “World of Tanks” (2011)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Open World Multiplayer Games

Taking multiplayer combat and turning it on its head by placing everyone in rolling machines of death, this free-to-play title has everything that makes a game addictive. There’s the usual fare for multiplayer focused games like map variety, but let’s be honest, the main draw is the freaking tank that you can upgrade and customize to your liking, even if you have to wade through micro-transactions to get there. The learning curve never gets frustrating, and once you get over the hump you’ll be dominating those around you and never want to leave the cockpit of your tricked out ride. That is, until you unlock a new one.

#4: “League of Legends” (2009) & “DOTA 2” (2013)

Top 5 Things You Never Knew About League of Legends

Fans of each might get upset that we lumped these two together, but look past the subtle difference in mechanics and these entries have a lot in common. Each require a ton of skill at your role to be successful, have a large cast of viable characters, and a focus and dependence on teamwork, strategy and mastering character intricacies and builds to keep on ranking up. The lack of maps would normally be a concern, but despite that, the gear you buy, way you level up, and lane you pick means that even hundreds of hours in, no match ever really feels the same.

#3: “Call of Duty” Series (2003-)

Also in:

Top 10 Call of Duty Games

The yearly franchise that keeps getting more and more popular, Call of Duty has a lot going for it to keep it fresh and constantly jam-packed with players. There’s a massive amount of weapons, skins, maps, and game modes, and a high, but not insurmountable skill ceiling that keeps even less-skilled players engaged and contributing to each match. It may not be the most tactical shooter around, but it’s fast paced, exciting, and always fun, which is a recipe for replayability and community.

#2: “Counter-Strike” Series (2000-)

Also in:

Top 10 Counter-Strike Maps!

Valve’s arguably most popular franchise takes a slightly different approach to its competitors in the FPS market, keeping each match slower, more methodical, and requiring a keen eye and fantastic aim to keep scoring those headshots. Twitch shooters might be more immediately fun, but there’s an incredible satisfaction to learning the maps and working together as a team to take down the terrorists and defuse the bomb, and its that same sense of accomplishment that keeps the player base so invested. With a little something for everyone, gamers jump in for the intense matches and great gunplay, but once they get into the loot crates and customization, they don’t hardly ever look back.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few Honorable Mentions:

“Hearthstone” (2014)

“GoldenEye 007” (1997)

“Rocket League” (2015)

#1: “World of Warcraft” (2004)

World of Warcraft's Biggest Controversies

What could have possibly beaten this genre-defining classic? Over the years this definitive MMO has grown from an adventure in an incredible fantasy world to almost becoming a full fledged second life. There are professions, guilds, auctions, and a huge player base, which means it’s almost impossible to get bored. Yes, it sometimes feels like an obligation to farm resources for crafting, but when it starts to drag, you could always go kill a freaking dragon! This is a fun, immersive multiplayer experience that has forged long-lasting friendships in the process, which is yet another reason to keep playing.
