Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Powerful Marvel Weapons.

For this list, we’ll be looking at the scarily strong objects in the vast history of Marvel Comics and seeing just what feats they’re capable of.

If you could make any comic item real, what would you choose and why? Let us know below!

#10: Captain America’s Shield

While Cap’s star-spangled shield isn’t a powerhouse in itself, per se, it does have one of the most important abilities…inspiration. Just seeing the iconic shield soar through the air and bounce off the heads of multiple enemies can spur the Avengers to win the day against improbable odds. Made out of a mystery blend of Vibranium, steel alloy, and Proto-Adamantium, the shield is near-indestructible and able to absorb a lot of kinetic energy. In “Avengers” #215, Molecule Man destroyed Silver Surfer’s board, Mjolnir, and the shield. He said the shield had the strangest molecular configuration he’d ever seen, giving it a big nod above the cosmic and god weapons.

#9: The Ebony Blade

It’s always fun when an item comes with a curse that requires violence. The Ebony Blade was put together by the wizard Merlin and Sir Percy with the Starstone meteorite as a sort of evil twin to Excalibur. It’s most famously used by Dane Whitman, also known as the Black Knight. On top of being a sharp sword, the blade can deflect most magic attacks and absorb energy blasts. It’s able to slice through anything that’s not enchanted or created from near-indestructible metals. Thanks to special Merlin magic, the blade won’t let its wielder perish, but they can be injured – which seems like a bit of an oversight from the wizard.

#8: The Staff of One

Imagine a magical artifact that can do anything you want. However, the caveat is that you can only use a spell once with the item. Tokiko Minoru fought the entity, One, and he agreed to be used as a magic stick rather than get slain. Years later, Tina Minoru stabbed her daughter Nico with the artefact. Instead of perishing, she simply absorbed the object and has used it ever since. Originally operating with blood magic, if a user tries to repeat a spell with the staff, unpredictable magic will spill out. So, to get around this, if Nico needs to use it a second time to charge her phone, for example, she can say it in Norwegian. Loopholes are the best.

#7: The Casket of Ancient Winters

You’d think the Frost Giants would be alright with a bit of ice. But even they get wrecked by the Casket of Ancient Winters. So, that should give you an idea of how stupidly powerful this Asgardian item is. The casket is said to contain the Fimbulwinter of Ymir, which has the force of a thousand destructive winters. Once opened, all that furious snow batters everything in its path and can place a planet into an ice age. This item is even a big catalyst in the first “Thor” film when the little scamp Loki freezes Heimdall in his plan to lay claim to Asgard.

#6: Mjolnir

On top of Cap’s shield, the other most iconic Marvel weapon is Thor’s enchanted hammer, Mjolnir. The Uru weapon was famously forged in the heart of a dying star and had the God Tempest, a cosmic storm, trapped within. Mjolnir was enchanted by Odin, so only those deemed “worthy” could wield the power of Thor. Users of the near-indestructible tool can manipulate weather, fly, teleport, energy project and deflect, matter manipulation and more! Honestly, it’s the Swiss Army knife of OP abilities. But the most powerful ability of the hammer is the God-Blast. Capable of unleashing an insane level of energy, Mjolnir has defeated some of the biggest hitters around, like Surtur.

#5: The Mandarin’s Rings

Sometimes, jewelry can put a look together. And, apparently, cause Marvel heroes massive headaches, too. Formed from the souls of legendary cosmic warriors, the ten rings each have different powers that the Mandarin loves to take advantage of. There’s the Impact Beam, the Matter-Rearranger, the Vortex Beam, the Disintegration Beam, the Flame-Blast, the Mento-Intensifier, the Electro-Blast, the Ice Blast, the White Light, and the Black Light – no, not that kind of blacklight. With all this power, the Mandarin becomes a warlord in no time and a huge thorn in Iron Man’s side. Plus, if the Mandarin loses one ring, the others will help track it down since they’re all connected. Pretty nifty.

#4: All-Black the Necrosword

With such a cool name, you know this sword is going to be awesome. All-Black was formed from the shadow of Knull, a villainous deity. Eventually, it fell into the hands of an angry alien called Gorr, who later added “the God Butcher” to his moniker as he slew many entities across the cosmos. All-Black bonds to the wielder like a symbiote. It grants them a host of powers, including regeneration, dark energy manipulation, as well as superhuman strength, speed, durability, and reflexes. The sword can also change shape. It can be clothes, wings, tendrils, and more. Gorr being a mere mortal before picking up the blade before becoming a powerhouse that nearly destroyed Thor shows just how strong this instrument is.

#3: The Cosmic Cube

If you’re looking for a Marvel MacGuffin, then the Cosmic Cube is the comic creation for you. It’s essentially thought of as a wishing device. Simply through the holder’s will, they can bend reality to their whim. The more skilled the holder is at wielding it, the more powerful the cube is. It’s been used to warp reality, create entire worlds, reshape Earth, change history, and power up Thanos enough to battle cosmic entities. At one point, fragments broke off and formed a being called Kobik. With slight prodding by the Red Skull, Kobik changed history to make Captain America a baddie for Hydra and kick-start the controversial event, “Secret Empire.”

#2: The Ultimate Nullifier

If a device can make Galactus the World Eater freak out at the mere sight of it, you know it’s a big deal. Billed as “the universe’s most devastating weapon,” the Ultimate Nullifier doesn’t look like much at first glance. But hidden within, the Nullifier can obliterate any target the wielder wants. Planets? Yes. Cosmic beings? Yeah. Multiverses? Aye. Cap’s shield? Yep, yep, yep. The only clause is that the wielder's mind must be strong enough. Otherwise, they end up destroying themselves. In theory, it can even wipe out entire timelines. Since Galactus is scared of it, he usually has the Nullifier on his ship to keep an eye on it.

#1: The Infinity Gauntlet

This is probably the most well-known destructive object in Marvel when the gauntlet contains the collection of Infinity Stones / Gems. These stones grant the user dominion over Time, Souls, Reality, Power, Space, and Minds. Basically, the holder can do whatever they want. When the gauntlet is complete, the wielder becomes nigh-omnipotent. The combined powers of the cosmic entities weren’t enough to take out a gauntlet-holding Thanos. Just like in the film “Avengers: Infinity War,” comic Thanos was able to wipe away half of all life in the universe with a snap of his fingers! It took an existential crisis to stop him. However, there’s one catch to using this power: the stones can only be used in the reality they were created in.
