These moments live in a pineapple, inside of our brains, rent free, forever. For this list, we'll be looking at moments across the SpongeBob SquarePants TV series that fans keep coming back for. Our countdown includes “Band Geeks”, “Pickles", “Chocolate with Nuts”, and more!

#10: Patrick Wants to do Some Kicking!

“Band Geeks” “Band Geeks” is without a doubt one of the greatest SpongeBob episodes of all time, due largely in part to its plethora of classic jokes. While Squidward struggles to deliver a crash course on music theory to his inept band, he clarifies that chorus lines, not bands, are the people who perform kicks on stage. Patrick however, seems to only register the word “kick,” and gives Sandy one right in the leg. Sandy proceeds to lay a brutal beat down on a shrieking Patrick, and their tussle spills outside. When Patrick returns stuffed inside a trombone, he delivers one of his most surreal punchlines ever.

#9: Patrick’s Wallet

Top 10 Patrick Star Moments

“Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III” One of the most memed moments to come from SpongeBob, this interaction never stops being funny. When SpongeBob and Patrick unwittingly unfreeze one of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy’s most nefarious foes, Man-Ray, he tries to trick the two into believing that he wants to change his evil ways. While going through good samaritan training, one of Man-Ray's tests is to act out returning a lost wallet. Despite his desperate efforts to return the wallet, Patrick stonewalls the villain, causing him to completely lose his cool. All of the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes are classics, but moments like this make the Man-Ray episode the funniest of all. Though maybe not to Man Ray himself.

#8: Krusty Krab Pizza Song

Top 10 Reasons Why The Krusty Krab Should Get Shut Down

“Pizza Delivery” Be honest, you’ve caught yourself singing this tune to yourself on more than one occasion. While SpongeBob and Squidward are on their surprisingly lengthy quest to deliver the first ever Krusty Krab Pizza, Spongebob passes the time by listing unlikely facts about the pioneers and coming up with this genre-spanning bop of a jingle. SpongeBob sings his own Krusty Krab Pizza theme song in a number of musical stylings, each one more hilarious than the last. Given the amount of times that Spongebob sings it, it’s unsurprising that the Krusty Krab Pizza song is so deeply ingrained in all of our collective consciousnesses.

#7: Future!

Top 10 Times SNL Accidentally Predicted the Future

“SB-129” Squidward’s journey through time and space makes for one of the most memorable SpongeBob episodes, and this moment is the most iconic. After getting frozen in the Krusty Krab walk-in freezer, Squidward is thawed out in the distant future - where he quickly realizes that while many things are alien and unfamiliar to him, other things remain unchanged, like the presence of a certain yellow, spongy thorn in his side. Set off by the appearance of 4 SpongeBob clones, and the news that there are hundreds more in this future, Squidward drops to the floor and begins reeling with this overload of information.

#6: The Ugly Barnacle

“Something Smells” Who knew that Patrick had such a gift for storytelling? When SpongeBob eats a gnarly sundae, his bad breath makes everybody in Bikini Bottom avoid him. Everybody that is, except Patrick, who doesn’t have a nose. Since he can’t smell his friend’s breath, Patrick deduces that people must be avoiding SpongeBob because he’s ugly. To make SpongeBob feel better he tells him the story of “The Ugly Barnacle.” The story doesn’t do much to cheer SpongeBob up, but it always has us howling with laughter, no matter how many times we hear it. With its clever set up, misdirection, and punchline, it’s a great example of why early SpongeBob was so fantastic.

#5: Bubble Bass’s Order

“Pickles” SpongeBob’s arch nemesis, Bubble Bass, and his special Krabby Patty order is well remembered by fans of the series. Well, the moment he orders it is, few people would be able to remember the order itself. Filled with obscure, but apparently real, restaurant lingo, Bubble Bass’s order is captivatingly vague to someone who has no idea what “make it cry,” “on a raft,” or “animal style” means. The fact that SpongeBob was able to catch all of that shows how competent of a fry cook he is, and should be proof enough that he would never forget the pickles.

#4: “Goofy Goober Rock”

“The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie” (2004) This song is an absolute banger, and anyone who says otherwise is a barnacle head. A parody of “I Wanna Rock” by Twisted Sister, this song from “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie” is both catchy, and absolutely ridiculous. The visuals satirize many of rock music’s tropes and iconography, and also showcases the creative way that the series handles animation, with moments of claymation as well as real life footage of a musician’s blazing fingers thrown in. Just as seeing long legged Patrick do the splits is never not funny, we’ll never get tired of rewatching the “Goofy Goober Rock” in its entirety.

#3: Jellyfish Dance

“Jellyfish Jam” Another earworm, the jellyfish song and accompanying dance scene is forever burned into our brains. When SpongeBob accidentally allows a swarm of Jellyfish to take over his home, he finds out that their one true passion is dancing to sick beats. While his jellyfish guests quickly become a problem for SpongeBob, the first moment that they spend together dancing in his living room is pure good vibes. The techno banger that the jellyfish can’t get enough of will randomly pop into our brains sometimes, and when it does, we have no choice but to go back and watch the whole scene again.

#2: CHOCOLATE!

“Chocolate with Nuts” The chocolate maniac that SpongeBob and Patrick encounter while selling candy bars is one of the most iconic gags in any SpongeBob episode, and the scene where they first meet him is one of those moments that we’ve all seen a thousand times. Still, a thousand and one times later, it remains hilarious. The ambiguity about what exactly set him off, the tense music, and the growing genuine fear that SpongeBob and Patrick feel as the man begins frantically shouting for chocolate makes for an unforgettable moment. Let’s be real though; we’ve all been that worked up over chocolate before. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. Ravioli, Ravioli, Give Me the Formuoli, “Imitation Krabs” We’ve All Quoted “Imitation Krabs”’s Ridiculous Secret Code. Will the Real Dirty Dan Please Stand Up?, “Survival of the Idiots” Maybe One Day We’ll Figure Out Who Truly Is the Real Dirty Dan... Patrick’s Plan, “Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm” We’ll Never Get Tired of Hearing Patrick’s Alaskan Bull Worm Survival Strategy. SpongeBob and Gary Reunite, “Have You Seen This Snail?” Gary Coming Home Is a Nearly Tear-Jerking Moment That Always Hits Us in the Feels. Firmly Grasp It!, “Jellyfishing” This Moment Is Like a Car Wreck, It’s Horrific but We Just Can’t Look Away.

#1: The Bubble Bowl

Top 10 Most Rewatched Victorious Moments

“Band Geeks” SpongeBob SquarePants has an impressive track record when it comes to delivering high quality musical numbers. At the top of the SpongeBob musical mountain, the performance of “Sweet Victory” stands as the most cherished song of the franchise. No moment from the series is as purely epic as the moment when the Bikini Bottom Super Band showcase their stadium rock anthem. The melodrama of the song, the hilarious intensity of each band member’s performance, and the genuinely good feeling that the scene evokes means that it’s impossible to get tired of rewatching it.
