Top 10 Most Shocking DC Fan Dome Reveals

Top 10 Most Shocking DC Fan Dome Reveals
VOICE OVER: Alexander Cometti WRITTEN BY: Andrew Tejada
Keep the reveals coming DC! For this list, we're looking at the biggest announcements from DC FanDome. Our list includes the Snyder Cut of "Justice League", the new Suicide Squad game and film, The Batman trailer, the relaunch of Milestone Media, updates on Black Adam, and more!

#10: Concept Art for the Flash Movie

When we last saw Ezra Miller’s Flash on screen, he was comparing costumes with Grant Gustin’s version of the speedster. During DC FanDome, we discovered that Miller’s outfit would be getting a cool update for his upcoming film. The Concept art revealed he’d be rocking a new suit designed by Batman himself. Flash's new costume looks sleeker than the one he wore in “Justice League” and appears to light up in designated areas whenever he uses his powers. The concept art also confirmed that he would be fighting alongside Keaton’s legendary version of Batman. There’s no doubt Flash’s new suit and impending team-up will have fans racing to buy a ticket when the movie drops in theaters.

#9: Relaunch of Milestone Media

Milestone Media was founded by writers who wanted to create superheroes that represented minorities and identities that weren’t portrayed well in comics. Over the years, the company teamed up with DC comics and created an Emmy award-winning animated TV show for its electric hero, Static Shock. Unfortunately, between comic cancellations and legal troubles, they struggled to reach the heights of their former success. But a surprise panel revealed that DC is relaunching the brand in February 2021. Not only will they reprint older comics, but they plan to create new stories for characters like Icon and Rocket and are even considering a Static Shock movie. No matter what Milestone Media does next, its revival will provide more opportunities for representation.

#8: New Friends & Foes in “Titans” Season 3

“Titans” will be adding a few legendary characters when the team moves to Gotham next season. Starfire's domineering sister Blackfire and the recently announced Scarecrow will both be causing trouble for our heroes. The Titans may be able to find help fighting those big bads once police commissioner Barbara Gordon is introduced into the show. But the biggest announcement about next season is that Jason Todd will become the anti-hero Red Hood. Todd’s transformation into the Red Hood usually begins when the Joker attempts to end his life. Considering that Todd ended the season resenting the rest of the titans, he may be transforming into this anti-hero all on his own.

#7: Black Adam Will Fight Several Heroes

If you cast someone as formidable as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to play Black Adam, he'll need to fight some intimidating enemies. DC revealed that he’ll have at least four worthy opponents in his upcoming movie. An animated teaser trailer showed that the Justice Society of America members Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Cyclone, and Doctor Fate will all clash with Black Adam. The heroes have abilities that range from telekinesis to super strength and even weather manipulation. Their unique power sets will certainly lead to interesting action scenes when they face off against Black Adam. As of today, it’s uncertain if “Black Adam” will still premiere in 2021. But whenever it does drop, audiences can expect some exciting action.

#6: The Playable Characters for the New Suicide Squad Game

Are you tired of video games where you play a noble hero? If so, you’ll probably want to get “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League”. The game will feature four DC super-villains: Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Captain Boomerang. They will be tasked with taking down Superman and any other heroes that stand in your way. You’ll be able to play the game solo as any of the villains or work together with friends who want to break bad in co-op mode. Each member of the squad will have a different playstyle and upgradable weapons. The interesting premise and multiple ways to play will make this game a must-buy when it debuts in 2022.

#5: Who’s Who in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad”

It's a good time to be a fan of the Suicide Squad. During DC FanDome, we finally got confirmation about who everyone is playing in James Gunn’s upcoming film. Idris Elba is the mercenary Bloodsport, John Cena’s going to be the violent Peacemaker and Peter Capaldi will outsmart his foes as the Thinker. Those serious villains will be balanced out by Sean Gunn’s Weasel, Daniela Melchior’s Ratcatcher 2 and David Dastmalchian’s Polka Dot Man. Although we don’t have time to go through the entire cast list, a short teaser revealed who Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson and more will be playing. Between the massive roster and James Gunn in the director’s chair, this film is shaping up to be a thousand times better than 2016’s “Suicide Squad”.

#4: The Snyder Cut Trailer

Fans have spent years petitioning to see Zack Snyder’s cut of “Justice League” and this new trailer has finally given them the preview they were waiting for. We see glimpses of a redesigned Steppenwolf, Superman in a black suit, and the cinematic debut of the terrifying Darkseid. The trailer also shows that Cyborg and the Flash will have more scenes dedicated to developing their stories and characters. There is even a hint that someone that originally survived the film might not make it through this new cut. Fans will only have to wait until 2021 to see if Snyder’s changes are enough to turn the critically-panned “Justice League” into an excellent superhero film.

#3: “Gotham Knights” Gameplay & Story Trailers

At the beginning of the trailer for “Gotham Knights”, we learn that Batman and Commissioner Gordon are dead. The only ones that can save Gotham are the remaining members of the bat-family. Both the cinematic and gameplay trailers showed that you'll be able to play as Nightwing, the Red Hood, Robin and Batgirl. They’ll have to work together to take down Dr. Freeze, the sinister Court of Owls and any other villains that may try to control Gotham. Like the previously-announced “Suicide Squad” game, you'll be able to switch between characters and play the game in co-op mode. We'll see how these heroes will save Gotham without Batman next year.

#2: A New “Wonder Woman 1984” Trailer

A few months after it was pushed back from its June 2020 release date, “Wonder Woman 1984” gave us some stunning new footage. In the latest trailer, the maniacal Maxwell Lord demonstrates that he’s a huge threat. We also got to see a few tender moments between Steve and Diana. But it was Kristen Wiig’s character, Barbara, that really stole the show. Not only is she strong enough to fight a demigod, but she’ll make herself even more deadly by transforming into an impressive looking human-Cheetah hybrid. While it’s unclear what will turn Barbara into a big bad, Diana looks more than ready to fight her new feline foe.

#1: “The Batman” Trailer

During the last panel of the night, director Matt Reeves let us know that the upcoming “Gotham P.D.” would take place before the highly anticipated film. After discussing the show, Reeves dropped a breathtaking preview of “The Batman”. The trailer displayed Pattinson’s Batman as brutal, obsessive, and a little vulnerable. He’ll have to face off against Zoe Kravitz’s capable Catwoman and Paul Dano’s unhinged and relentless Riddler. Fortunately, Pattinson’s Batman will have Andy Serkis’ Alfred, Jeffrey Wright’s Commissioner Gordon and a stunning new suit to back him up. Audiences have seen countless versions of the dark knight over the years. But this new trailer managed to build a Batman world that was unlike anything we’ve never seen before.
