Blockbuster season is back again! Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Movies You CAN’T Miss This Summer. For this list, we’ll be looking at the most noteworthy films coming out during the 2018 summer season, either based on the hype or acclaim surrounding them.

#10: “Ant-Man and the Wasp” (2018)

Marvel Studios is not showing any sign of slowing down. Although “Ant-Man” was not one of their biggest successes, it was definitely a breath of fresh air in a saturated superhero market. The sequel is sure to garner more attention with Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man teaming up with Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp for an even bigger adventure. The plot has been kept tightly under wraps, likely due to the secrecy surrounding “Infinity War,” which we’ll talk more about later. With Peyton Reed back in the director’s chair, however, we can expect more of the same tongue-in-cheek fun mixed in with some welcome new elements.

#9: “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” (2018)

Similar to the “Fast & Furious” films, “Mission: Impossible” has become one of those rare action franchises that just gets better with age, picking up steam and more fans as it goes along. Over two decades later, Tom Cruise is still working missions that get him in trouble and “Fallout” will be no different. Following the huge successes of “Rogue Nation” and “Ghost Protocol,” audiences are anxiously awaiting to see what stunts Ethan Hunt and his IMF team are pulling this time, as they race against time to correct mistakes from a failed mission.

#8: “Under the Silver Lake” (2018)

David Robert Mitchell’s “It Follows” was a critical and word-of-mouth success that gave new hope to fans of the horror genre. Anxiously waiting for a follow-up, audiences will finally be treated to Mitchell’s next project, “Under the Silver Lake,” a neo-noir comedic thriller starring Andrew Garfield. “Under the Silver Lake” notably caught the world’s attention when it was picked up to compete for the Palme D’Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival just prior to its wide release, suggesting that Mitchell has made another modern classic.

#7: “The First Purge” (2018)

Top 10 Movies You're Glad You Missed This Summer

The “Purge” franchise keeps getting bigger in scope and more ambitious, bringing in a higher box office return with each entry. Fans are always looking for a good scare, and “The First Purge” does not look like it will disappoint. As the title suggests, we are getting a prequel that will trace the horrifying events of the inaugural Purge. This expansion of the universe will be vital for fans, as a TV series exploring the rise and reason for the creation of the Purge is on its way.

#6: “Ocean’s 8” (2018)

It took way too long to get this many talented actresses in one place for a heist film. The powerhouse cast, which includes Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, and Helena Bonham Carter, will be taking a cue from Danny Ocean and his gang, by pulling the heist to end all heists. Bullock plays Danny’s estranged sister, who devises a plan to rob a wealthy celebrity at the famous annual Met Gala. After years of rumors, the all-female “Ocean’s” reboot is finally here, and the talent alone is sure to get people buying tickets.

#5: “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” (2018)

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - Satisfying Sequel Or Crappy Cash Grab? Mojo @ The Movies Review

Fans are understandably concerned when a reboot of a beloved franchise is announced, and “Jurassic World” was no different. However, the 2015 blockbuster was a massive hit with critics and fans alike, and a sequel was not only inevitable, but demanded. Thankfully, this project was not rushed, and the long wait shows that great care was taken in delivering an even more thrilling and scary experience this time around. Much of the same cast and production team are back, with the directing duties handed over to “The Orphanage” director, J. A. Bayona.

#4: “Deadpool 2” (2018)

SPOILER ALERT!! Deadpool 2 Review ft Double Toasted! (Mojo @ The Movies)

Talk about risky Hollywood moves. The violent, foul-mouthed, self-referential, spandex-wearing mercenary was a hard sell for a big-budget R-rated comedy. After years of begging, studios finally listened, and “Deadpool” became a smash hit, breaking records left and right. Although the highly-anticipated sequel changed directors, Ryan Reynolds is back in action with the introduction of both Cable and X-Force thistime around. With “The New Mutants” and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” both being pushed to 2019, this will be the only “X-Men” universe movie this year, and therefore comic-book fans will be hungrier than ever.

#3: “Incredibles 2” (2018)

Following a lengthy hiatus, director Brad Bird returns to Pixar studios to deliver a long-awaited “Incredibles” sequel. As of late, Pixar has been giving ravenous fans what they want, as they keep revisiting beloved franchises. Announced in 2014, a decade after the original, we finally get to witness the Parr family, more incredible than ever, fighting alongside each other, with a bigger focus this time around on crowd-pleasing and scene-stealing Jack-Jack. The only Pixar film of the year, we all expect it to a massive draw for June.

#2: “Solo: A Star Wars Story” (2018)

Solo: A Star Wars Story SPOILER FREE Review! Mojo @ The Movies

As if the plain fact that this is a “Star Wars” movie will not be reason enough to stir up some insane anticipation, the controversy surrounding the production will get curious parties filling theatres across the world. Fan-favorite Han Solo is getting a prequel movie, similar to the “Rogue One” spin-off. After hearing that comedic directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were fired and replaced by Ron Howard last minute, along with all the rumors about Alden Ehrenreich’s acting ability, fans were concerned about the project and what the final product will look like. Guess we will find out May 25th. Before we reveal our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. “Skyscraper” (2018) “The Meg” (2018) “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” (2018)

#1: “Avengers: Infinity War” (2018)

Avengers: Infinity War - Where Do We Go From Here? Spoiler Alert Review! - Mojo @ The Movies

Arguably the most anticipated superhero movie of all time, the third “Avengers” film has been building up since the beginning of the MCU a decade ago - and you shouldn't miss out on re-watching it again and again (yes, it's THAT good). From his first surprise appearance at the end of “The Avengers,” we have slowly learned that an epic battle against the mad titan Thanos was looming in the horizon. Having been called the culmination of everything the MCU has done so far, “Infinity War” has broken hearts, as well as records, with its opening weekend being the high-grossing ever in North America so far. And even though it was slightly pushed back to an earlier April release, it remains the tent-pole summer movie.
