Top 10 Post Malone Songs
#10: “White Iverson” (2015)
With a soothing and laidback vibe ideal for nighttime cruises, it’s no wonder this debut single was Post Malone’s breakthrough. His velvety vocals pair seamlessly with the song’s fluid verses and tantalizing piano riffs. That exquisite combo also serves as an homage to its title’s namesake, Allen Iverson, whose impactful legacy is built around style and grace. In a cool moment, the NBA legend actually joined the party when the track passed one billion streams on Spotify. And a lot like AI’s unforgettable crossover on the basketball court, it still holds a special place in the hearts of Posty fans.
#9: “Better Now” (2018)
Released as the final single off of Posty’s second’s album, “Beerbongs & Bentleys,” this summertime bop’s turn at the plate in late May 2018 was no mere coincidence. Its blistering pace and infectious energy made for a perfect complement to the season. The Grammy-nominated track blurs the lines between trap and pop, boasting a propulsive melody and a super catchy chorus. Lyrically, it narrates moving on from a failed relationship by balancing jaded cynicism with vulnerable self-awareness. Taylor Swift herself had glowing feedback for the song, once telling Post how jealous she was of its hook. Luckily for them both, they would eventually join forces on 2024’s “Fortnight.”
#8: “Wow.” (2018)
Post Malone’s music has always been defined by a bold self-confidence, a signature swagger. While at times that can feel a bit bombastic, it’s usually pretty convincing – as is the case with this club powerhouse. It compensates for its shorter length by being infinitely replayable, drawing listeners in with its icy atmosphere and addictive groove. One need not look further than its number of choreographed dance videos to get a sense of its palpable verve and influence. In fact, one viral clip led a fan not only onstage with Posty himself but also into the song’s official music video. And his skills absolutely steal the show!
#7: “Psycho” feat. Ty Dolla $ign (2018)
Coasting on a dreamlike melody that Posty once compared to a nursery rhyme, this chill number is tailor-made for kicking back. That ambience is in stark contrast to its unpredictable music video. It features a personal tank & flamethrower, an animatronic wolf, and some snowy wreckage straight out of John Carpenter’s “The Thing.” The track’s lyrics aren’t quite as intriguing, as they retread well-worn tropes about how lonely it is at the top. However, there’s a fun theory amongst fans that the line, “AP going psycho,” is actually a tribute to “Fallout.” While the simpler answer is that he’s referring to a luxury watch brand, Posty is indeed a devotee of the beloved game franchise.
#6: “Goodbyes” feat. Young Thug (2019)
Those unfamiliar with Post Malone’s vocal abilities might be in for a surprise with this pop-trap ballad. As he shows off his range with more growling and belting than ever before, we’re also treated to an amazing bridge from Young Thug. The latter’s vibrant and dynamic tone cuts through the song’s comfortable rhythm, injecting it with a real burst of energy. And while the lyrics here describe the everyday push-and-pull of a strained relationship, the music video is more pulpy and fantasy-driven. Coming off like if Guillermo del Toro directed “West Side Story,” its shaky narrative is offset by some pretty solid production design.
#5: “Congratulations” feat. Quavo (2016)
As his next bonafide smash after “White Iverson,” this chart sensation only continued Posty’s skyrocketing stardom. He and its other creators were apparently inspired by watching the Olympic Games. This makes a ton of sense, considering the track’s victorious aura. There’s still an edge present here, though, as it stresses betting on oneself in the face of doubters and feigned kindness. And that wavelength of self-belief seemed to really resonate with other artists. We saw Future add his own verse in a remix and Rich Brian even go as far as hiring a mariachi band to surprise Posty with a special rendition of his tune.
#4: “Rockstar” feat. 21 Savage (2017)
Pointed to as a 21st century update on “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll,” this megahit was only the second song to ever reach 2 billion streams on Spotify. It fuses together abrasive lyrics and ominous instrumentals to create a wholly haunting, but still bouncy, experience. That caustic yet alluring concoction also carries over to its hypnotizing music video. The flick features sharp lighting, unstable focus, and a heavy dose of bloody mayhem. And although the track has since proven divisive, it nevertheless collected its fair share of accolades and played a major part in making Post Malone a household name.
#3: “Feeling Whitney” (2016)
While not a chart-topper, this stunning acoustic masterpiece nonetheless belongs at the peak of the Malone mountain. As it blends divine string music with delicate falsetto, one wouldn’t be remiss to think they were listening to Bon Iver or Damien Rice. What might be most impressive, however, is just how sincere it feels. Its reflective lyrics draw throughlines between isolation, addiction, and self-destruction. They take aim at hollow ideas of masculinity – snidely calling Posty ‘the man’ while lamenting all of the heartache that comes with that arbitrary title. Hearing his gravelly, pained voice tell such an earnest, introspective, and melancholy story is nothing short of sublime.
#2: “Circles” (2019)
Post Malone’s genre bending has often led him into the world of pop music. Few have been quite as remarkable, though, as this Grammy-nominated crowdpleaser. As his first #1 with solo billing on the Billboard Hot 100, it’s simply a pleasure to listen to. We can’t get enough of the bright percussion work or the soaring chorus, which could make even the biggest cynic belt along. Its accessible lyrics about a never-ending, rollercoaster relationship only contributes to its wide appeal. This is demonstrated by versatile covers from names like Colbie Caillat and Of Monsters and Men. All that said, though, this is still a Posty track through and through. One need only watch his genuinely breathtaking, soulful live performance in Rome for proof of that.

#1: “Sunflower” with Swae Lee (2018)
The crown jewel of the Post Malone oeuvre remains a hotly debated question, but this endlessly endearing and utterly radiant outing makes a compelling case! As it ripples between its iconic, free-flowing instrumentals and Swae Lee’s crisp tone, listeners are left in a fuzzy haze of warmth and zest. After bouncing and floating up the charts alongside “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” in 2018, the song is still in headlines years later. In early 2024, it became the first song in RIAA history to be certified Double Diamond. That’s the equivalent of going Platinum an astonishing 20 times over! And much like Miles Morales himself, we can’t help but sing along.
