#10: Lightning McQueen “Cars” franchise (2006-11)

“Cars” follows the story of the successful and overly confident racecar that goes by the name of “Lightning McQueen.” When the anthropomorphic vehicle finds himself doing community service after accidentally damaging a road in Radiator Springs, he soon realises winning isn’t everything. With his smart-mouthed remarks and cocky attitude, he’s got a great screen presence and we can’t help but love him.

#9: Remy “Ratatouille” (2007)

The thought of eating a meal prepared by a rat may seem a little icky. But with Remy on the case, you shouldn’t worry. Born with a heightened sense of smell and love for food, this young rodent dreams of being a chef. Firm, motivated and animated, Remy is a perfect example of how dedication can get you anywhere – even if you’re a rat.

#8: Marlin “Finding Nemo” (2003)

For a clownfish, this little guy isn’t exactly haha funny – but we love him all the same. After some ocean divers snatch up Nemo, Marlin sets out to find his son. Driven by determination and the love for his child, we watch this tiny striped wonder battle Great White Sharks, hordes of jellyfish and dentists. Now that’s what we call parenting.

#7: Merida “Brave” (2012)

Princess Merida is hell-bent on defying convention and choosing her own path in life. After she makes a deal with a witch that ultimately goes belly up, we watch as she becomes a warrior and battles to set things right. With her trademark red hair, the courageous princess shows us if we follow through with our dreams, we must also take responsibility for our actions. She’s a great and relatable cartoon heroine.

While he’s the muse to his scaring assistant Mike Wazowski, Sulley isn’t actually as cuddly as he looks. As the number-one scarer at Monsters, Inc., his frightening roar is legendary. But throw a cute little rug rat into the mix, and this mammoth monster may just go all mushy on you. With the booming voice of John Goodman at hand, Sulley manages to be the meanest, coolest and most likeable monster around.

#4: Carl Fredricksen “Up” (2009)

This guy just wants to keep himself to himself. #3: Buzz Lightyear “Toy Story” franchise (1995-2010)

Top 10 Most Hilarious Buzz Lightyear Moments

Trust us, intergalactic Space Rangers can be a little touchy. Initially unaware that he’s nothing but a toy, Buzz Lightyear thinks he’s landed on an alien planet when he first meets the other playthings. He also thinks he can fly and shoot lasers. But, voiced by the smooth, calm and collected Tim Allen, Buzz gradually shows us he’s cool as they come – and never ceases to take us to “infinity and beyond.”

#2: WALL-E “WALL-E” (2008)

Also in:

Top 10 Fourth Wall Breaking Characters in Movies and TV

Several hundred years in the future, this garbage-collecting robot is cleaning up the desolate mess left by humans on Earth. WALL-E might not be human, but he’s still able to show us he’s got smarts and feelings through his beeps, squeaks and other quirky mannerisms. The result is a stripped-down and honest character that’s got us captivated. We even see his sappy side when he falls in love with EVE. Aww, robot love. Before we reveal our favourite Pixar personality, here are some Honourable Mentions. - Flik “A Bug’s Life” (1998) - Luxo Jr. “Luxo Jr.”(1986) - Mike Wazowski “Monsters, Inc.” (2001) - Alfredo Linguini “Ratatouille” (2007)

#1: Woody “Toy Story” franchise (1995-2010)

Top 10 Woody Allen Movies

Essentially acting as the leader of the pack when it comes to his owner’s toy chest, Woody is one plaything that’s always full of character. When he’s not blurting out quotable phrases like “there’s a snake in my boot,” he’s playing friend and advisor to the other toys. And then there’s the voice of Tom Hanks, whose incredible range brings out the emotion and drama in the rooting-tooting cowboy and makes us love him that much more. Do you agree we our list?
