Top 10 Rappers Who Swear The Most

While some of you know him as Tej Parker from the “Fast and the Furious”, most know Ludacris as the man behind such classics as “Move Bitch” and the orchestrator of the infectious chorus that is “Ho.” Yes, Chris Bridges aka LUDA infuses a bit more than just some of that ATL southern hospitality into his lyrics, as he mixes in a healthy dose of expletives for comedic relief and to drive his point home. Not everyone appreciates a good f-bomb, but then again, Ludacris probably does not give a (bleep).

Straight outta the LA-based group OFWGKTA aka Odd Future, here’s a millennial lyricist that relies on hard-hitting curses to emphasize his gonzo-style approach to rhyming. Back in the day, some rappers were criticized for their obvious profanity, but with Tyler the Creator, it seems that most don’t even know what the he’s even talking about most of the time. Even so, we all recognize a well-placed curse word, which only makes fans want to further explore the lyrics to figure out what exactly what this man is talking about.

In the mid-90s, she was a part of the Junior M.A.F.I.A. crew with Biggie Smalls, which marked the jump-off for a provocative career not to mention a persona ripe for imitation. With that being said, Lil’ Kim was the original, self-proclaimed “Queen Bee,” and her raw style of cursing differs greatly from many artists of today. For example, consider her collaboration with Dru Hill front man Sisqo when Lil’ Kim chronicled all thedifferent races of men that had been up in her business. Kim rhymes with such clarity but also retains the grit that fans have been admiring for years.

This Young Money millionaire was only a teenager when he released his debut album in 1999, and despite the gangsta appearance, Lil’ Wayne has become known for his easy-going demeanor, possibly because of the purple drank. So when he curses, which happens in essentially every song aside from “How To Love,” Wayne just seems to be having a hell of a good time, whether he’s rappin’ about women, aliens or the aforementioned purple drank. Like Tyler the Creator, sometimes it’s not clear what Lil’ Wayne is actually talking about, but you can’t help but smile when trying to decipher the expletive-filled messages.

Born and raised in New Orleans, this MC gained attention as a member of the Hot Boys with Lil’ Wayne. By 1998, Juvenile had confused thecasual hip-hop fan with the lyrical concepts behind “Ha” but was a bit more obtuse with his follow up, the ass-tastic classic “Back That Azz Up.” Perhaps Juvenile hasn’t exactly been destroying the Billboards charts since, but he certainly hasn’t retired and undoubtedly hasn’t stopped delivering a potent lyrical assault of expletives. As a matter of fact, Juvenile has never stopped making music or amazing fans with his affinity to find just the perfect curse word.

Arguably the greatest rapper of all time, and among the most influential, the late Tupac Shakur emerged in 1991 with his debut album “2Pacalypse Now”. From that point forward, the “2Pac” persona became bigger than life, and given the intellectual nature of his lyrics - well, at least most of them – it’s not hard to identify the passion behind the plethora of profanities. As new music from 2Pac continues to emerge years after his death, we can all enjoy his art of storytelling, complemented by the art of a well placed .

Believe it or not, we once lived in a world when this MC was regarded as one of rap’s best lyricists, but today his legacy of emotional curses has been tainted by a consistent presence in the clink. Even so, no one can deny the brilliance of DMX’s trilogy of late 90s albums and his astounding profanity acumen. Whether with “We Don’t Give a F**k” or the Sisqo collaboration “What These Bitches Want,” DMX always made it clear that he wasn’t necessarily concerned about touching the hearts of mainstream America but more about keeping his shit the hardest.

He’ll forever be connected to the phrase “Go Shorty” and the pop culture phenomenon that was “In Da Club”. And that’s a damn shame, given 50's ability to entertain the masses through mumbled swearing. Sure, the casual hip-hop fan knows all the classics like “P.I.M.P.” and “21 Questions,” however the cleverly titled song “F**k” You” displays 50 Cent at his best when cursing, managing to reach 100 (bleeping) curses, thus cementing his swearing legacy.

By 2000, this Detroit rapper had become known for his arduous climb to the top of the hip-hop game and for his unique takes on pop culture. Meanwhile, the dark nature of Eminem’s lyrics often made listeners stop in their tracks- especially when Eminem said “Bitch, I’m gonna kill you” and subsequently won a Grammy for Best Rap Album. With his aggressive and often comedic cursing, Eminem effectively told PC America what to up and do with itself while proving his point that hip-hop is, in fact, a form of art, even if one doesn’t always appreciate the content.

With just two profanity-laced album, this hip-hop ensemble put L.A. on the map and inadvertently found themselves in the crosshairs of theAmerican legal system.
