Top 10 Stupidly Overpowered Anime Villains
VOICE OVER: Dan Paradis
Written by Mark Sammut

You know what? If up against these guys - maybe it's better to just give up. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Stupidly Overpowered Anime Villains.

For this list, we are only looking at characters that have clearly shown their strength in a fight. Although there might be an even bigger baddie coming up, until they've actually done something—they're going to have to wait.

Special thanks to our user Leo Lazar Jakšić for submitting the idea on our interactive suggestion tool: WatchMojo.comsuggest

#10: Marshal D. Teach

“One Piece” (1999-)

Named after the most notorious pirate of all time, this hairy chested terror is the main antagonist of Toei's flagship series and the only character to have more than one devil fruit power. As creating black holes at will isn't impressive enough, Teach can also unleash devastating earthquakes that annihilate anything, or anyone, in his path. Starting off as part of Whitebeard's crew, Blackbeard's strength and intellect made him an easy pick for the role of a commander. The kicker? This was before he had even eaten the Yami Yami no Mi fruit and gained his first ability.

#9: Father

“Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood ” (2009-2010)

Many villains like to boast about how they are or will become God - only to have it blow up in their faces. This guy? Well, he is a man of his word. To perform alchemy, there is one simple law: for everything created, something of equal value has to be given in return. Father is the only exception, allowing him to do as he pleases without any restrictions. A living philosopher stone and born pre-loaded with all of the world's knowledge, Father only needs to come into contact with something to fully understand it. So; no rules, obstacles or challenges? Dude, you're practically a walking cheat code.

#8: Gilgamesh

“Fate/Zero” (2011-2012)

Sorry Saber, but if the holy grail war accepted bets, our money would be firmly on the King of Heroes. That self-confidence is just too infectious. Part of the Archer class, Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon contains a vast amounts of weapons, which can be thrown in mass towards his target. Rarely ever needing to get serious in a fight, his insanely high charisma level means that he can influence entire empires and armies to do his bidding. Even if someone were able to get close enough for a strike, his golden armor is damn near indestructible.

#7: Kars

“JoJo's Bizarre Adventure ” (2012-2013)

In a world of big strapping men, Kars stands on top as the biggest and strappiest of them all. The main antagonist for the Battle Tendency arc, the Pillar Men's leader is a calm and cold figure, one that is capable of creating acid from every cell in his body to absorb his foes. After donning the stone mask with the Red Stone of Aja he becomes the ultimate lifeform, his physical abilities are boundless, as Kars can combine his genes with the DNA of any living animal to gain an advantage. After using his immense speed to close the gap, he can summon sharp blades from his limbs to cut his opponent into little bitty pieces.

#6: Accelerator

“A Certain Magical Index” Series (2008-2013)

Even at half strength, this level 5 esper is so far ahead of everyone else that we wonder why they even bother. Capable of manipulating the vectors of anything that touches his body, Accelerator is near invincible, as any attack would only be returned to sender. He also demonstrates a complete control over the elements, allowing tornadoes to be created using the wind around him. At one point, he even stops the Earth's rotation for a whole five minutes. This power is not bound by the physical either, as even sound waves and ultraviolet radiation can be re-directed without any effort.

#5: Meruem

“Hunter x Hunter” (2011-2014)

King of the Chimera ants, this green monstrosity is an unparalleled biological weapon designed to eradicate all of humanity and look bored while doing it. Flawless in nearly every way, Mereum can shatter huge walls with one punch, tear off limbs with a lazy yank and kill other chimera ants with a single strike. Meruem's high intellect and huge aura allow near-instant mastery of En, Gyo and Ren, something that takes highly skilled hunters years to do. As shown in his battle with Netero, Meruem relies completely on hand to hand combat, as anything more would be overkill.

#4: Misogi Kumagawa

“Medaka Box Abnormal” (2012)

Don't let his smile and frail appearance fool you, this student council president is one scary highschooler. Thought to be a normal child at first, Kumagawa's minus turns special screws into long swords. After stabbing someone with the pointy end, their physical and supernatural abilities would transfer over to him. Using this method, he eventually learns "all fiction", which literally means to erase something right out of existence. Self-declared “the weakest person in the whole world”, he fully expects to fail at everything – making it impossible to put him down for good. Honestly, if it wasn't for all the murdering, his never say die attitude would be admirable.

#3: Beerus

“Dragon Ball Super” (2015-)

Interested in a job change? Want to try your hand as a God of Destruction? All one needs is a massive appetite, an undying love for napping and enough power to blow up a planet with a tap of a finger. Serving a crucial role in the evolution of the universe, Beerus uses his power to destroy planets, allowing new ones to take their place. This is not based solely on strength either, as only what he wants to destroy would be affected. During his fight with Super Saiyan God Goku, Beerus only fights at about 70% of his strength, as anything more would place the entire universe at risk.

#2: Aizen Sosuke

“Bleach” (2004-2012)

A former captain of the Gotei 13, this infamous betrayer spent over 100 years experimenting with new and exciting ways to manipulate spirit energy. Although his physical prowess is impressive, what makes Aizen an overwhelming villain is his understanding of history and the art of battle. He is a master manipulator, who manages to convince the soul society that he is a gentle and kind man for decades. This deception seeps into combat as-well, with a special ability that grants control of his opponent's five senses. This is before even mentioning all his varies forms, which amplify his power greatly and provide abilities like regeneration and teleportation.

#1: Madara Uchiha

“Naruto: Shippuuden” (2007-2017)

Seriously, Madara? Where do we even start!? Besides his immense strength, speed, and skill, Madara has an unlimited stream of chakra at his disposal. A pyromaniac at heart, he can perform the deadliest fire-based attacks in existence and is able to identify someone else's powers by reading their chakra. Eventually, he masters Rinnegan – allowing all five elements to be used. Knowing Sharingan, Madara can predict and mimic the movement of his foes and even hypnotize them. If miraculously someone manages to land a hit, his healing abilities ensure that it is a short-lived victory. Also, did we mention the massive giant he can summon?
