Top 10 Times Celeb Couples Wore Matching Outfits
VOICE OVER: Emily Brayton WRITTEN BY: Emily Blair
These celeb couple fashion coordination looks were matches made in heaven. Our countdown includes the Beckhams in leather, Brangelina's tuxedos, Beyoncé & Jay-Z in power suits, and more!

#10: Dwayne Wade & Gabrielle Union’s Family Unity at the Truth Awards

When Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union took Wade’s daughter Zaya to the 2020 Truth Awards in Los Angeles for her red carpet debut, they knew it was the perfect time to dress to impress. The family wore matching bespoke suits from Richfest in a green, purple, and white colorblock style. The colors of the suits were significant to the family as they represent the colors of the genderqueer pride flag. This was a public display of their overwhelming support of Zaya’s decision to publicly come out as transgender in 2020. Their decision to match outfits is incredibly sweet, but the meaning behind their sharp suits is even more heartwarming.

#9: Cara Delevingne & St. Vincent Match in Burberry at Fashion Week

When actress and model Cara Delevingne was spotted with musician St. Vincent, also known as Annie Clark, at the Burberry show during London Fashion Week in 2015, anyone could tell they were an item. The couple wore chic and edgy matching black outfits from the same Burberry collection - to stay true to the brand, of course. The outfits featured intricate geometric cutouts, which Cara paired with gold jewelry. Fashion week might just be the perfect place to showcase a coordinating outfit, as their cute matching ensembles in the front row would no doubt catch the eye of every fashion lover within sight.

#8: Zayn Malik & Gigi Hadid in “The Matrix”

On-again, off-again celebrity power couple Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid celebrated Zayn’s 25th birthday together in 2018 and decided to pay tribute to The Matrix films. Dressed in all black with long trench coats and chunky black boots, the couple looked like a high-fashion version of Neo and Trinity. Their futuristic sunglasses - worn at night, of course - and Gigi’s matching black bag completed their coordinating outfits. It’s hard to comprehend how they could make such complicated and over-the-top outfits seem so effortlessly cool. This was definitely one of their strongest looks as a couple, which is saying something considering their tendency to make fashion headlines together.

#7: Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas at the Met Gala

Shortly after their Las Vegas elopement in 2019, this couple made their red carpet debut as husband and wife in matching Louis Vuitton outfits at the Met Gala. Fitting with the “Camp” theme, their coordinating ensembles featured an artsy pattern in bold primary colors. On their own, their individual outfits would still be very cool and stylish, but together they make one iconic and memorable look. The night was undoubtedly an exciting one for the newlyweds, who kept gazing at each other with adoring faces. Now, with a daughter they welcomed in 2020, Sophie and Joe are still one of the sweetest celebrity couples out there.

#6: The Beckhams in Leather

David and Victoria Beckham are known for being one of the most stylish celebrity couples out there, especially with Victoria leaving the pop star path to pursue her fashion designer dreams. One particular matching ensemble this couple wore was to the Versace Club Gala Party in 1999. Dressed head to toe in matching leather outfits that scream late-90s, the two looked totally biker-chic. There’s some uncertainty around these outfits, as David seems to think they were Versace, but Victoria insists they’re Gucci. Wherever they’re from, both Victoria and David have admitted to seriously regretting this look. Whatever, Beckhams! We think you looked great.

#5: Brangelina’s Tuxedos

At the 2014 BAFTAs, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie showed up looking sharp as ever in matching tuxedos. Interestingly, the tuxes came from two different designers, with Pitt wearing Valentino and Jolie in Saint Laurent. Angelina Jolie also changed up her look with a casually undone bowtie and sleek black heels. This matching moment also brings back memories of when Brad Pitt dated Gwyneth Paltrow and seemingly dyed and cut his hair to match hers. Of course, with the beautiful women he’s been with in the past, who can blame him for wanting to imitate their stylish looks?

#4: Beyoncé & Jay-Z in Power Suits

In more than twenty years since their first meeting, this A-list celebrity couple has been spotted in stylish coordinating outfits on multiple occasions, like their all-black 2005 Oscars outfits. One that stands out in particular is this eye-catching look from the 2016 premiere of “Hands of Stone”. Dressed in matching gray powersuits, Beyoncé and Jay-Z were literally the epitome of a “power couple”. Spotted on Usher’s snapchat story, the pair cuddled up for a cute photo. The contrast of the sweet, smiley pose and their bold outfits made for a look we just can’t get enough of.

#3: Sonny Bono & Cher in Polka Dots

As one of the biggest celebrity duos of the 1960s and ‘70s, this couple wore so many funky coordinating outfits that it’s hard to pick just one. The wardrobe for their TV show, “The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour”, alone featured clothes any vintage-loving couple would do anything to get their hands on. In one 1973 episode, however, this musical duo appeared in especially eye-catching outfits that had them both wearing a brightly colored polka dot pattern all over their sleek and totally 1970s white ensembles. In 2019, then-couple Halsey and Evan Peters even copied this look for an “American Horror Story'' event. Apparently, nothing says “I got you, babe” like matching polka-dots.

#2: Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez in Matching Neutrals (& More)

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are either a perfect match for each other or they spend way too much time deciding their outfits in the morning, or maybe a little of both. Either way, they are constantly spotted in adorably similar outfits, from comfy loungewear for traveling to matching monochrome workout clothes for the gym. The stylish couple especially likes to do it up for date night. On one of their first dates as a publicly confirmed couple, they went out in matching camel-colored outfits with coordinating accessories. Their commitment to the khaki truly made some ordinary neutrals into something that caught everyone’s attention as they made their romantic debut.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

Maisie Williams & Reuben Selby in Pastels at Paris Fashion Week in 2020

Kristen Stewart & Stella Maxwell in Shades & Leather at the Airport

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle in Red for the Mountbatten Festival of Music

Pharrell Williams & Helen Lasichahn at the 2014 Academy Awards

#1: Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake’s Iconic Denim & Diamonds

It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since the world was introduced to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s matching all-denim outfits - or “Canadian tuxedos”, if you will. Worn at the 2001 American Music Awards, every detail of these outfits is iconic, down to Timberlake’s denim cowboy hat. The couple even dressed up the look by accessorizing with tons of big, bold rhinestones to prove their jeans were red carpet worthy. Justin might now regret this memorable look that Britney admits was all her idea, but we can’t still can’t get enough of this pure early 2000s fashion gold. These outfits will for sure be remembered for years to come in pop culture history.
