#10: Her “Sister Act 2” Tribute

Let’s start our list with a moment that had everyone talking. When Lizzo sung her hit song “Juice” at the 2019 MTV Movie and TV Awards, she included a nod to Lauryn Hill’s performance in “Sister Act 2’s” finale. She also sprinkled in the memorable refrain from the movie’s version of “Oh Happy Day”. It was an awesome blast from the past and it didn’t go unnoticed. Even Whoopi Goldberg herself has seen the moment and Tweeted that she became Lizzo’s newest fan! Whoopi was so proud of her she addressed it on “The View” and had nothing but praise for our icon.

#9: Her VMA Performance Speech (& the Inflatable Cheeks)

Lizzo has proven time and time again that she marches to the beat of her own drum. And she makes sure that people know it! As she was singing a medley of her most popular songs during the 2019 Video Music Awards, she included a message about body positivity. The backdrop was perfect, as it included big inflatable cheeks! She addressed the crowd, talking about the challenges of loving yourself in this world, and encouraging everyone to love themselves and feel good regardless!

#8: When She Rocked Marc Jacobs at the Met Gala

The Met Gala is a special time for any fashionista, but Lizzo really took it to the next level when she showed up in her feathery Marc Jacobs look. Lizzo loved the outfit SO much that she continued to wear it even after the show was over. In fact, she even wore it to the airport - making the tarmac the new red carpet! And she looked great doing it too! She managed to make catching a plane into an EVENT. Hats off to Lizzo for wearing the outfit to more than just one occasion!

#7: The "Anchorman" Flute Scene Recreation

Lizzo’s well known for her amazing flute skills. So it’s no wonder she was a fan of Will Ferrell’s iconic jazz flute scene in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy”. She actually challenged him to a flute duel on social media and Will accepted, in character of course. Her amazing counter was to recreate the flute scene from the movie. The attitude, the talent, the humor… This Lizzo moment is just pure perfection. Mic drop just got replaced by flute drop! We love you Will, but we think Lizzo has you beat!

#6: Dressed as a DNA Test

Finish this sentence: I just took a DNA test, turns out… Lizzo’s iconic line became one of those lyrics everyone put in their Instagram captions. So, in 2019, she decided to pay homage to the line that contributed to her stardom… by dressing up as a DNA test for Halloween! In an Instagram video, Lizzo opened her DNA test to reveal a leotard that featured the lyrics to the song. She got creative again for Halloween the following year, when she dressed as the fly on Mike Pence’s head during the 2020 vice presidential debate.

#5: Truth Hurts Flute Solo

You know that you’re an icon when you get a standing ovation from the one and only Rihanna during your performance. Lizzo sure knows how to turn up the crowd and make sure everyone has a good time when she sings. During her “Truth Hurts” performance at the 2019 BET awards, miss pop queen Rihanna herself was definitely feeling Lizzo’s vibes all the way through. And we just have to talk about the flute solo - a pop star that can rock out to a flute live on stage? Lizzo’s raising the bar and we’re here for it. Yep, this is a 100% Lizzo stan account.

#4: Her Tiny Desk Concert

Lizzo knows how to fire up a big crowd, but there’s something even more special about listening to her share her wisdom and voice in a more intimate setting. During her NPR Tiny Desk Concert, she managed to capture everyone in the room with her incredible charisma. When she heard a baby crying in the audience, she managed to turn even that into a song and a positive message - noting that even a baby has a testimony! The way she flirted with the audience, belted out her hits, the way her band smiled throughout the performance…it was all perfect!

#3: When She Showed Off Her Tiny Bag

Lizzo continues to push boundaries and unapologetically show off her attitude. A lot of the time, she says exactly what everyone else is thinking. In 2019, she rolled up to the AMAs red carpet with a tiny tiny bag to symbolize how much she cares about other people’s opinions. It’s no wonder that this moment became a meme! Keeping the ball rolling, she also asked her fans to edit her AMAs photo and make the bag bigger and her smaller. And, of course, the results were hilarious.
