#10: They Have a YouTube Channel Called Retro Replay


If you can’t get enough of Troy and Nolan, you’re in luck. The duo host a weekly YouTube series called Retro Replay, where they play old games and share stories. Troy and Nolan have worked their way through plenty of classic games, both good and... not so good. The show is currently in its second season and you can catch new episodes every Thursday.

When asked about which Retro Replay host was the superior gamer, the duo had this to say:

#8: Nolan Went to College on a Baseball Scholarship


That’s right: talented in the voice-over booth and the baseball diamond, Nolan, at one point, had a pretty powerful right arm. Nolan may not a have been a blue-chip prospect, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t get some attention from the pros.

#7: Troy is the Lead Singer of Window to the Abbey


Not unlike his Retro Replay co-host, Troy also has some talents outside of voice-acting. After releasing “Random Thoughts on a Paper Napkin” as the lead singer of Tripp Fontaine in 2004, Troy didn’t release new music until his solo album Sitting in the Fire” in 2014. His new band, Window to the Abbey, put out their first album, “Moving Around Bias,” in 2017.

#6: Nolan Won a BAFTA Award


Since they began honoring “outstanding creative achievement” in video games in 2004, The BAFTA awards haven’t been too kind to Troy and Nolan. But that all changed in 2018 when Nolan finally took one home… sort of. Nolan was recognized and received a Special Award for “outstanding contribution to video game performance. While the honor is certainly an incredible achievement, it certainly hasn’t wiped away the memories of past losses.

#5: Troy Was the Director of Performance Capture for “Middle-earth: Shadow of War”


As Talion in “Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor,” Troy delivered what many consider to be one of his best performances. For the sequel, “Shadow of War,” Troy reprised his role but added some additional responsibilities on the project as well. As the Director of Performance Capture, Troy gained a lot of perspective on what it takes to create games. Troy even got to direct Nolan on the project.

#4: Nolan Worked Worked as Reporter


After attending graduate school at Emerson College, Nolan spent some time as a journalist in New Jersey before moving to New York to pursue acting.

#3: Troy is the Only Actor to Play Both Batman & The Joker


Plenty of talented actors have voiced Batman and his iconic arch-nemesis, the Joker, but Troy Baker breathes rarified air as the only actor to have played both characters. When we asked Troy whether it was harder playing Batman or the Joker, his answer surprised us:

#2: Nolan Used to Do ADR For Christopher Walken


If you watch Retro Replay, then you’re all-too-familiar with Nolan’s impeccable Walken impression. But did you know that he’s recorded actual ADR for the man himself? He’s also added dialogue for other famous movie stars as well. If you aren’t familiar with ADR, it stands for Automated Dialog Replacement and is also known as looping. It involved recording new dialogue after principal production has wrapped and inserted it during the editing process.

#1: They Combine for Over 300 Video Game Credits


We asked Troy and Nolan if they could guess how many video game credits they have between the two of them. The real number was a little smaller than they thought but is nonetheless an incredible achievement. Luckily for all of us, they’re just getting started.
