Top 10 TV Reunions We Need

Top 10 TV Reunions We Need
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton WRITTEN BY: Garrett Alden
The are the tv reunions we need! For this list, we'll be discussing the casts of the television shows we'd most like to see reunite on-screen. We won't be including any that have already had a reunion as of mid-2018. We've included reunions like “Dawson's Creek”, “Scrubs”, “Firefly”, “Saved by the Bell”, “Friends” and more!

#10: “Dawson’s Creek” (1998-2003)

Top 10 Dawson's Creek Moments That Make Us Yell At Our TVs

This influential teen drama followed the lives of a close-knit group of teenagers, as well as their friends and family, during their formative years. Although the finale gave us a glimpse as to the direction their lives would take from then on through a flash-forward, we can’t help but wonder how they turned out after that. Are Joey and Pacey still together? How successful was Dawson in the movie industry? Whatever they’re up to now, we don’t wanna wait, for our lives to be over, we want to know right now what they will be.

#9: “Scrubs” (2001-10)

Top 10 Best Insults & Comebacks on Scrubs

Able to make us laugh and tug at our heartstrings, “Scrubs” was a one of a kind dramedy, filled with silly and memorable characters - however, it was primarily presented through the eyes of the young doctor John “J.D.” Dorian. Although the series’ conclusion was somewhat muddled, due to its final season acting almost as a sequel show, most of the characters received a proper send-off at some point. Even so, we’d love to see how life and parenthood have shaped many of them in the intervening years, particularly J.D. and Turk’s bromance. Though some of the cast have reunited on another show, we need to see them all together.

#8: “Firefly” (2002-03)

This short-lived cult hit is an absolute legend. Featuring a unique space western setting, a terrific ensemble cast, and snappy dialogue, “Firefly” has had fans past and present lamenting its early cancellation. Although a feature film wrapped up many plot threads and the series continues in comic form, fans still itch for the chance to see the crew of the Serenity get into more shiny adventures on-screen, whether it be the big or small screen. For now, we must content ourselves with some of the partial cast reunions from conventions and rewatching the series for the gajillionth time.

#7: “Saved by the Bell” (1989-93)

Also in:

Top 10 Saved by the Bell Moments That Wouldn't Work Today

Another seminal teen series, “Saved by the Bell” followed the gang at Bayside High in misadventures that usually tended towards the comedic, though they also featured dramatic and/or educational elements as well. A reunion has been sought by many over the years, including Jimmy Fallon, who managed to get part of the cast back together for a sketch on “The Tonight Show.” Whether we’ll ever see a truly complete one is anyone’s guess, though we’d definitely take “time out” of our lives to watch it.

#6: “Cheers” (1982-93)

Also in:

Cheers Television Retrospective

“Cheers” is among television’s most beloved sitcoms. The show’s ensemble cast delivered over a decade of entertaining bar antics that warmed our hearts and tickled our funny bones. Despite several of them returning in the show’s equally famed spin-off - more on that later - a complete reunion has remained as tantalizingly out of reach as Sam and Diane’s famed back-and-forth romance. We got to know so much about these character’s lives through the years that we’d love to see where they ended up and maybe recapture a time and a place where everybody knows our names.

#5: “Freaks and Geeks” (1999-2000)

Freaks and Geeks Cast: Where Are They Now?

Another cult hit show cancelled too soon, “Freaks and Geeks” followed several groups of 1980s teenage outsiders, the eponymous freaks and geeks, dealing with common issues faced by high schoolers, in both comedic and dramatic ways. Whether the show has a satisfying conclusion is debatable, but regardless, fans have been itching for a reunion to conclude the stories of the characters. However, it would naturally need to be set a few decades on. While the cast was relatively unknown at the time, many of them have gone on to become huge stars, so getting them all together would likely prove logistically difficult.

#4: “Frasier” (1993-2004)

Also in:

Top 10 Stars You Forgot Were on Frasier

A spin-off of “Cheers,” “Frasier” followed the titular character’s life in Seattle, along with his family and co-workers. The series practically perfected the farce, embroiling its characters in a new comedy of errors nearly every week. The series finale left many things up in the air, so we’d love to see some resolution at last. Although a full reunion is sadly no longer possible, given John Mahoney’s death, we wouldn’t be surprised if the creators managed to work around that. Maybe the Crane brothers could engage in one last farce at their father’s funeral.

#3: “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1997-2003) & “Angel” (1999-2004)

Also in:

Top 10 Times Buffy The Vampire Slayer Tackled Serious Issues

Before vampires became all the rage, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and its spin-off “Angel” were blazing a trail filled with action, twists, romance, surprisingly relatable characters, and more snappy dialogue than you can shake a stake at, or drive into a vamp’s heart. The two series that formed the “Buffyverse” each had such spectacular ensembles that we honestly couldn’t decide between them. Despite both series continuing extensively in comics, we’d still prefer to see the Scooby Gang and Angel Investigations in a final adventure performed by the actors again.

#2: “The Office” (2005-13)

Also in:

Top 10 Times John Krasinski Couldn't Keep a Straight Face on The Office

This beloved workplace sitcom may have only been off the air since 2013, but we still desperately need to see the staff of Dunder Mifflin once again. “The Office” was a hilarious and heartwarming comedy whose characters’ lives touched us in ways few other shows can match, due to how relatable they were and the series’ mockumentary style format. There have been rumblings about a revival as well as a Christmas special reunion, similar to the one used by the British version, to function as a reunion. So, a reunion for “The Office” is not only necessary, it’s very possible. Before we get to our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: “Charmed” (1998-2006) “30 Rock” (2006-13) “The Wonder Years” (1988-93)

#1: “Friends” (1994-2004)

Also in:

Friends VS The Big Bang Theory

If there’s one TV show reunion we need more than any other, it’s this one. “Friends” delivered a fantastic decade of entertainment, following the lives and loves of six friends, all of whom are uniquely memorable and funny. Reunions have been teased for years, and while partial ones have occurred, the whole gang has yet to assemble. At this point, there’s probably no way a reunion could live up to the hype, but we still want them to “be there” for us, one more time.
