Top 10 Victoria Secret Angels

Victoria’s Secret has long been a purveyor of quality garments and gorgeous models. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 10 Victoria’s Secret Angels.

While many beautiful women have walked the runway or graced catalogue pages for Victoria’s Secret, not every one has been given the coveted role of an Angel. These women are not just models; they’re spokespeople and brand ambassadors. That’s why we’re excluding famous models like Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Elle Macpherson, who’ve all modeled for Victoria’s Secret but were never considered Angels.

#10: Marisa Miller

A classic California girl, blonde beauty Marisa Miller became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2007; but she’d been on our radars long before that. She brought her classic look to fashion mags like Vogue, but – perhaps even more famously – she appeared in every SI Swimsuit issue between 2002-08. Though her brand work has spread to other marques like Harley-Davidson and Captain Morgan, her work with VS keeps her busy, and she’s able to use her love of athletics to help the company promote their sports line, among other products.

#9: Stephanie Seymour

One of the original Angels, Stephanie Seymour was one of the first major models to work with the fledgling Victoria’s Secret in the ‘80s and ‘90s, although she was primarily featured in the mail-order catalogue and in-store promotional material. Her fresh face was in demand during that era, as she was also featured numerous times in the SI Swimsuit Issue, made appearances in Vogue and Playboy, and featured in a couple of music videos for her boyfriend Axl Rose’s band, Guns N’ Roses. But of course, it’s her work for countless high profile photographers that fills out her impressive modeling résumé.

#8: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Early in her career, this British model was labeled “the next Kate Moss.” It was shortly thereafter, in 2006, that Huntington-Whiteley began working for Victoria’s Secret, and that’s when her career really started to take off. Becoming a full Angel in 2010 and a face of Burberry soon after, she continued to pop up in fashion magazines and even on big screens, as Huntington-Whitely replaced Megan Fox in the third installment of Michael Bay’s “Transformers” franchise. And just think: as a kid, she was bullied about the way she looks.

#7: Tyra Banks

There’s no one quite like Tyra. As one of Victoria Secret’s original Angels, a massively successful television personality, producer, author, and repeated name on Time’s Influential People list, Tyra Banks is undeniably one of Victoria’s Secret’s biggest stars, who has surpassed her work with the brand and as a model. The first ever African-American chosen to grace the cover of the VS catalogue, Tyra’s bubbly personality and natural charm have undeniably made her one of the top supermodels ever.

#6: Miranda Kerr

In 2007, when this blue-eyed Aussie brunette replaced Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bündchen, she had some high heels to fill. She’s more than has kept up her end of the bargain, however, and has since been a modeling superstar involved in campaigns for H&M, Reebok, Swarovski, Wonderbra, and more. Kerr has graced countless magazine covers and walked the runway for Christian Dior, Lanvin, Chanel, John Galliano, and more. But of course, it’s her runway work for VS we’re most interested in today.

#5: Candice Swanepoel

With her flowing blonde mane and bright blue eyes, Swanepoel has swiftly become one of the most popular, recognizable and highest earning models around. The South African phenom has completed a list of campaigns and runway work as long as her legs, with Nike, Tommy Hilfiger, Givenchy and Christian Dior numbering just a few names on the extensive list. After becoming an Angel in 2010, she was given the honor of wearing the pricey “Fantasy Bra” at 2013’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. And, what’s more, she was voted #1 on Maxim’s 2014 Hot 100 List.

#4: Gisele Bündchen

Acknowledged for ending the popularity of “heroin chic” models and bringing sexy back, this Brazilian supermodel was an Angel from 2000-07, and during that time established herself as the world’s top-earning model. A true pioneer, Gisele is also credited as the originator of the “horse walk” stomp style of runway walk. Tapped by VS to wear their coveted “Fantasy Bra” more than once, Bündchen has been the face of innumerable campaigns and has even tried acting. But her role in Victoria’s Secret’s rise, particularly through popular TV commercials, cannot be overstated.

#3: Alessandra Ambrosio

Another native of Brazil, Ambrosio with her brown hair and brown eyes, was the first spokesmodel for the Victoria’s Secret “PINK” line. And, though she’s covered numerous magazines and has worked countless campaigns, it’s her work with VS that’s most notable. Memorably, she’s worn underwear made entirely out of candy, walked the runway just three months after giving birth, and has even strutted her stuff for Victoria’s Secret while pregnant with her second child. The flawless and ageless Ambrosio also modeled 2012’s and 2014’s jewel-encrusted Fantasy Bras.

#2: Heidi Klum

Rising to international fame in the ‘90s thanks to her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covers, Klum was the first German model to be named an Angel, spending 13-years with the title before finally retiring her wings in 2010. Her perky personality also gave her the chance to host the Fashion Show on more than one occasion, and allowed her to act as a spokesmodel or celebrity personality for many brands. She’s since become more of a TV host and businesswoman, but she’ll always be an Angel to us.

Before we get to our top spot, here are a few honorable mentions:
- Karlie Kloss
- Lily Aldridge
- Izabel Goulart
- Daniela Peštová

#1: Adriana Lima

By now, when you think Victoria’s Secret, you think Lima. The longest serving Angel ever, Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima has been one of the leading faces of the brand since she became an Angel in 2000. With a friendly personality and relaxed beauty, Lima has worn the VS Fantasy Bra three times and has appeared in multiple Super Bowl ads, all of which were seen by hundreds of millions of people. A face of Maybelline with a warm and radiant signature smile, Lima is not only one of the world’s highest-earning models; she’s also our #1 Angel.
