If you thought being targeted by one killer was scary, try having seven coming from the mind of one man. These characters are all projections of the mind of the elderly hitman Harman Smith, whose multiple personality disorder allows him to physically transform into different killers. Their guns, knives, and grenade launchers make them deadly forces to be reckoned with. They’ll stop at nothing to get rid of the terrorist group known as Heaven Smile.

When a ninja is so dedicated to his mission that he won’t think twice about sacrificing his life for it, he’s pretty hard to mess with. This character commits his loyalties to being in charge of the Azuma Shinobi Ninja clan and taking on jobs that others call crazy. His ancient sword Izayoi never fails to get the job done.

Just because you’re a nerd, doesn’t mean you can’t be a badass. When Travis wins a beam katana in an auction and runs out of money to buy video games, he turns to contract killing to make money. His motorcycle, known as the Schpeltiger, makes getting from one target to another pretty easy for him and The beam sword makes it not too tough for him to get rid of them once he’s there.

You’d have to be pretty tough to challenge Solid Snake to a fist fight. Fox first showed up as a FOXHOUND agent, than later reappeared under his second name after his apparent death. The powerful armored exoskeleton and deadly high-frequency blade he has when he gets his new identity help to make him a terrifying killer. Oh, and use of a railgun attached to his arm doesn’t hurt, either.

No not that 47. He’s the only character on our list without flesh, but his lack of muscle doesn’t make him any less intimidating. His proficiency with guns makes him feared by Jedi across the galaxy. The droid is so disdainful of organic lifeforms that he calls them “meatbugs.” With all the joy he takes in killing, you wouldn’t want to be on his bad side.

This character takes killing so seriously that he prays for his targets and asks for forgiveness once he dispatches them, probably due to the fact that he has a terminal illness. He’s proficient with weapons like sniper rifles and submachine guns, and is not too shabby at hand to hand combat either. Just one look into those eyes and you’ll be glad he’s taken a liking to you.

Maybe the best way to learn to be an assassin is to protecting people from them first. After Corvo is framed for the murder of the Empress of the Isles, he’s forced to leave his job as her bodyguard and become a brutal killer to get revenge and clear his name. Thanks to the powers granted to him by the outsider, he can use supernatural powers like blink and slow time along with his fancy blade and hand held crossbow.

Pretty obvious that this series was going to be on the list, the only question was which assassin? Well even over his predecessor Altair, Ezio’s brash personality and ability to take out important targets make him a no-brainer for our list. His expertise with weapons and hand-to-hand combat makes him a worthy match for his ancient enemies, the Templars. Even Leonardo da Vinci wants to hang out with him.

With his black suit, leather gloves, and signature silverballer pistols, who else could top our list? This character’s equally adept at taking out enemies whether he sneaks up on them undetected or goes in with guns blazing. He was cloned to be the perfect assassin, and his ruthless efficiency shows that it worked. His enemies cower in fear of him—that is, if he gives them enough time to be afraid.
