Top 10 Who Should Go Home & Why Moments on RuPaul's Drag Race
#10: Rosé at the Ready
"Henny, I Shrunk The Drag Queens!"
The final five of Season 13 were clearly a tight-knit group, which made this moment particularly hard to watch. While all of Olivia Lux’s competitors chose her as the queen who should go home, one response stood out in particular. After a long silence during which Olivia struggled to answer the question, she finally selected Kandy Muse. But immediately afterward, Rosé named the “Divalicious Diva” with zero hesitation. The contrast between the other contestants’ tactful approaches and this blunt reply was jarring. The queens’ opinions understandably got to Olivia, who disagreed with their critiques in “Untucked!”
#9: If You Dish It Out...
"RuPaul-a-Palooza"
In this episode, Season 3’s final six each interpreted RuPaul’s “Superstar” using different musical genres. When the host posed the dreaded question, Shangela came under fire, with Carmen Carrera implying that the beloved queen didn’t look the part of a bonafide star. But Shangie clapped back, highlighting Carmen’s weakness as a performer. Interestingly, Alexis Mateo seemed to back up Shangela’s claim. To be fair, it wasn’t as downright explosive as some other mainstage moments. But with the queens trading eyerolls and annoyed glances, a great deal of shade was certainly thrown. The funniest moment, though, was subsequently seen in an exclusive “Untucked!” clip. Of course, we’re talking about Yara Sofia’s subtle and creative jab at Carmen.
#8: Sailing or Coasting?
"Glitter Ball"
For the “Glitter Ball,” the competitors took to the stage with three distinct looks, the last of which had to be created using an assigned gemstone. And the queens called Darienne out for her performance in the fashion-focused challenge. Plus, BenDeLaCreme felt she was deluded about her overall performances, and reluctant to incorporate the judges’ feedback. But that wasn't the main source of drama on the mainstage. Rather, Bianca Del Rio found DeLaCreme’s passing comment about her patronizing. Whether the remark was intended to be shady or not, it prompted an ultra-snarky response from the eventual season six winner. The show’s signature question often brings out tensions on-stage, and this exchange was no exception.
#7: Alyssa Edwards Flips the Script
"Black Swan: Why It Gotta Be Black?"
Sometimes the contestants hit the nail on the head when Ru asks them who she should eliminate. That was the case in this episode, in which all but one queen on stage selected either Vivienne Pinay or Honey Mahogany. Funnily enough, both ended up being sent home due to a lackluster lip-sync. But the most gag-worthy moment of the night came from none other than Alyssa Edwards. When she revealed that she wanted to nominate someone who had already been declared safe, most of us expected her to name her then-nemesis Coco Montrese. Instead, she took aim at Jade Jolie - and didn’t mince words. We can always count on this dancing diva to give us a memorable moment!
#6: Alexis Mateo & Latrice Royale Trade Barbs
"Queens Behaving Badly"
It’s safe to say that Ru’s questioning during judging doesn’t always bring out the queens’ nice sides. In this case, the inquiry came after a memorable pranking challenge on Hollywood Boulevard. When Alexis Mateo made a joke about Latrice Royale’s size, the latter queen fired back with a comment about Team Yarlexis’s accents. Alexis then called out the competition for undervaluing her and her partner because they’re native Spanish speakers. Although she hadn’t exactly been kind herself, her impassioned response made an important point about exclusion and bias on the show. “Queens Behaving Badly” is definitely an apt title for this episode.
#5: A Tale of Two Queens
"The Fabulous Bitch Ball"
Shade was thrown in every direction in this episode. Phi Phi O’Hara and Sharon Needles obviously didn’t get along, and they didn’t try to hide it on stage. When Sharon suggested that her competitor lacked kindness and integrity, Phi Phi interrupted to clear her name. To make matters more interesting, the other queens were divided in their opinions. Chad Michaels agreed that Phi Phi was too cutthroat. Yet Latrice called Sharon out for her lack of polish, and basically criticized the judges for their double standards in the process. Given the rivals’ past showdowns, it wasn’t exactly shocking to see them clashing. But add their competitors’ candid responses to the mix, and you get a fascinating moment.
#4: Silky Nutmeg Ganache & Yvie Oddly Go At It
"Bring Back My Queens!"
In “From Farm to Runway,” Ru asked some of the queens her infamous question in the Werk Room of all places. Silky and Yvie clearly had it out for each other, and said as much to the host. But their back-and-forth came to a head weeks later during the “Bring Back My Queens!” episode, when Ru posed the question again at judging. The final six - and six already eliminated queens - all weighed in. And everyone selected either Silky or Yvie. Although both contestants took a lot of flak, it was particularly tough to witness the latter queen’s reaction. You could actually see her holding back tears. And in “Untucked!,” it became painfully apparent that both competitors took being named to heart.
#3: Self-Worth or Self-Sabotage?
"Absolut Drag Ball"
This episode featured one the most shocking exchanges we’ve ever seen between a contestant and the judges. The competitors responded to Ru’s question with plenty of attitude. Namely, Rebecca Glasscock made a dig at her peers, and Bebe Zahara Benet questioned the former’s skill level. However, it was Shannel who truly dropped a bomb. She shockingly nominated herself, explaining that she didn’t feel appreciated by the panel. It wasn’t the first time a queen named herself in this context, but it remains one of the most jaw-dropping responses ever. And although the judges appreciated her vulnerability, it wasn’t enough to save the glamorous showgirl from elimination.
#2: The Tina Burner Question
"Freaky Friday Queens"
In this makeover episode, the queens were paired up and tasked with swapping visual styles. Many of the contestants singled out Olivia Lux’s performance as the weakest. But it was Denali’s critique of Kandy Muse that brought about a truly fiery retort. While disputing that her styling was Tina Burner-esque, Kandy also pointed out the unique challenge that she and her partner Gottmik faced. The confrontation led to a heartfelt apology from Denali in “Untucked!” Although it was entertaining to see the conflict play out in front of the judges, we were glad to see the queens make up shortly afterwards.

#1: Clash of the Titans
"Snatch Game"
This is one of the most explosive conflicts to ever hit the mainstage. When called on by Ru, The Vixen laid into Eureka!, detailing her frustrations about her demeanor and communication style. The latter queen cut in to defend herself, which led to a heated exchange that had her tearing up. As if their emotional argument wasn’t enough, it was clear that The Vixen felt betrayed by her numerous nominations. The drama continued to play out in “Untucked!, ” where she expressed her hurt at being named so many times - especially by people she considered her allies. This heartbreaking saga made it all too clear that “Drag Race” is an intense pressure cooker.
