#10: The First Hold & Release Bungee Jump
youtube.com/damienwalters
- A former gymnast and trampolinist who now has a thing for freerunning, Damien Walters' stuntman credentials are second to none! One of the most watched freerunners on all of YouTube, his Hold & Release Bungee Jump is extreme sports rule-breaking at its best!
- Now, even though the title is pretty self explanatory, I was sorta confused as to what this stunt really entailed. Anyway, the video answer that question pretty quickly – but it sorta makes you wonder how confident you are in your own grip strength, eh?
- Now, as crazy as this looks, the behind the scenes videos show him practicing this stunt a number of times with different crash matts – just to reassure you that he was a professional with a lot of help and this wasn’t just a crazy “Hold my beer” kinda moment.
#9: POV Rooftop Parkour in Southampton
youtube.com/jamesmedias
- I should have said something before, but this is not gonna be a good countdown for those of you that are scared of heights! Parkour can be impressive enough when viewed from a distance, but this video by James allows every inch of the sport's danger to be shown and sweated over!
- Kingston is effectively guiding us around his hometown, the British city of Southampton, but this is unlike any sightseeing tour you've likely ever been on! As dizzying as it is death defying, the POV set-up leaves no stone unturned - or rather, no rooftop unjumped?
- Naturally the stunts speak for themselves here, but James also gets points for nice editing. The cuts flow with the music, landings are timed with the beats, and the overall flow gives the whole thing a real fluidity – which helps create the illusion that you’re witnessing a single run rather than a montage of stunts.
#8: Roof on Lukyanovskaya
youtube.com/MustangWanted
- Mustang Wanted is probably one of the most well known names in all of urban climbing, and our next video showcases the best that he has to offer! Let's just say that literally speaking, he's perhaps not a guy many would want to hang with..! I’m sorry. Anyway, remember what I said about heights.
- This is one of those videos that seems to be less about the crazy elaborate setup of the stunts, and more about showcasing the nonchalant insanity of the subject. It honestly feels like he’s screwing you with you viewer, fully aware of how much you’re freaking out behind your screen.
- While the remix of Eminem’s Lose Yourself seems about 10 years too late as a choice of music, the stunts are undeniably ballsy, if nothing else.
#7: Wild in the Streets of Los Angeles
youtube.com/TheHoonigans
- Man meets machine next, and what a machine it is! We have world famous racing brand Hoonigan to thank for the following celebration of all things speed, as pro rally driver Ken Block takes to the streets of Los Angeles in a souped-up 1965 Ford Mustang!
- Block breaks out moves that most of us couldn't even pull on a video game, as he turns sweeping highways and entire donut shops into mere minor obstacles along his path to driving perfection!
- At over twelve minutes long, it's one of the lengthier clips on today's countdown, but worth every wheel-spinning second!
- Almost all of the videos we’ll see today had me thinking “I’d probably die if I tried that”. This is the one that I can say, without that doubt, that I would 100% die if I attempted.
- By the way, if you ever get a gorgeous car like that and put a Monster Energy Drink sticker on it, you sir, are the worst.
#6: Storm Freerun - Volume 1
youtube.com/StormFreerun
- Our next video opens with the tagline, 'we will not be broken' - which quickly seems to be an exceptionally difficult promise to keep! I hope you like slick editing cuz here comes Storm Freerun.
- Based in London, Storm Freerun is probably one of the tightest troupes of their type in existence – and they’re here to show you. The video features a music video, sports roster sort of introduction to the team, which would come off as corny if the things they were doing we’re so jaw dropping.
- If you get past the serious tone, amazing camera work and pulsing beats, what’s most impressive is the raw athleticism that’s on display here. A lot of guys and galls we’ll see today demonstrate that they have no fear – but these guys are pulling off purely physical feats that are just short of superhuman. These guys are definitely the pros, and it shows.
#5: Peruvian Jellyfish Stunt – Steve-O
youtube.com/steveo
- Taking a short break from people who are trying as hard as they can not to hurt themselves, we have a not-so-young man who makes a living trying to hurt himself. Up next is the man, the legend, the lovable idiot Steve-O.
- The premise of this video is childishly simple. Wear a jellyfish sombrero. And in that respect, the Jackass alumnus succeeds, but boy does it ever look painful.
- In case you think he’s making this up, Jellyfish stings are no effing joke. Even when they’re dead, their tentacles cause severe burning, irritation, allergic reactions and blistering. Sure, that’s all external injury and nothing compared to say…falling off a building, but you gotta give the man credit for launching himself headlong into the horrible, horrible stunt. One more time – never, ever try this yourself.
#4: Felix Baumgartner's supersonic freefall from 128k’
youtube.com/redbull
- In terms of sheer scale, there's nothing (and we mean nothing!) that can match what Felix Baumgartner does next! Several stunts might be described as being 'out of this world', but this effort truly deserves such a tagline!
- On October 14th 2012, Austrian daredevil Baumgartner broke all manner of world records (and the sound barrier!!) by skydiving out of a helium balloon, an estimated 128,000 feet from the safety of Earth and land! Some of you may be thinking, how high could you possibly go in a balloon? Well, prepare to be surprised.
- The video itself condenses Bamgartner's monumental effort into ninety slightly surreal seconds, from take-off to landing - but all the best bits have definitely been covered! The over the shoulder shot as Bamgartner jumps out is my personal highlight... The way he says, 'I'm going home now'... Gets me every single time!
#3: Shanghai Tower (650 meters)
youtube.com/raskalovit
- Our third place finisher is actually the most watched video to feature on today's countdown, and with good reason! With over 40 million views, interest in this clip is almost as high as the building atop of which it's set!
- Shanghai Tower has been under construction since November 2008, with its official height recorded in August 2013 at approximately 632 meters, or 2.073 feet - making it the second tallest building in the world behind Dubai's Burj Khalifa!
- Just look at these crazy kids. Getting to the top wasn’t enough – no, they had to climb the tower at the top to make it realllly unsafe. They’re quite literally above the clouds – even talking about this is giving me anxiety.
#2: World's Largest Rope Swing
youtube.com/devinsupertramp
- From the apparently fearless, to the obviously fun-loving! "World's Largest Rope Swing" is exactly what it claims to be. It's the world's Largest. Rope swing! And oh boy does it look awesome!
- Brought to us by Devinsupertramp, this stunt is set within the red sandstone landscapes of Utah, and the iconic Corona Arch in particular. It just goes to show what you can do with giant balls and a giant budget.
- As with everything else on this list however, the danger is very, very real! The Corona Arch has quickly become a kind of bucket list site for all adrenaline junkies, resulting in injuries and even deaths occurring on the rope swing in recent years. There's no doubting that this thing is cool, but we absolutely cannot recommend that you try it – should you find yourself there.
But, before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

HM2: Skateboarder Backflips Down 6 Stairs

HM3: Escalade Solo

HM4: The Amazing Spider-Man Parkour

#1: Jeb Corliss "Grinding The Crack"
youtube.com/jebcorliss
- We've climbed, we've flipped, we've raced cars and we've swung ropes... To finish, we fly! For that is exactly what Jeb Corliss manages to achieve with today's triumphant video!
- Those of you that saw our Stunt Channels countdown will remember Jeb, but for those of you who didn’t, let me fill you in. He’s a wingsuit jumper, which essentially means he falls diagonally for a living.
- Obviously the whole jumping off a mountain and flying through the air thing is scary enough, but the real rush in this video is felt when Corliss passes certain checkpoints, and his sheer speed and close proximity to the ground becomes apparent! The GoPro cams can make the stunt look almost relaxing, but the shots taken from the ground show you just how fast this guy is moving – no room for mistakes.
That's it for today's list, we hope you've managed to maintain at least a mildly steady heart beat!
