Another Top 10 Zombie Kills

Kicking off our list is the most harrowing zombie kill of this incredibly popular television series. Here, Rick finds himself cornered after going for his gun. After killing one Zombie, he is pinned to the floor and narrowly manages to kill a second. Unable to get a beat on the third, he brilliantly decides to use his head! It’s memorable for being an impossible situation with an obvious solution!

#9- Amish Paradise “Diary of the Dead” (2007)

In this film, the survivors ask a deaf Amish man for help after their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Taking refuge in his barn when the zombies attack, their new mute friend tries his best to protect them and his land, before getting a love bite, and responds by showing what his sickle can do! Those crazy Amish huh!?

#8- A Quick Shave “Dawn of the Dead” (1978)

Top 10 "Of the Dead" Movies

When a group of special soldiers go AWOL during a zombie outbreak, and who can blame them, they’re forced to land to refuel their helicopter. While one member of the team refuels, the sound of the revving engine drowns out the moans of an approaching zombie. Luckily, the zombie offs himself by climbing over obstacles to receive a buzz cut! Nothing is cooler than a zombie that kills itself.

#7- Helicopter Mulcher “28 Weeks Later” (2007)

Top 20 Scariest Zombie Transformations in Movies

Thought that last helicopter kill was gruesome? Well you haven’t seen anything yet! In this scene, an airborne helicopter is used as a giant weed whacker to dispatch an entire horde of zombies in a field while survivor hangs from its landing strut! Yes, machine guns would have been way too obvious, and probably a lot less recklessly fun!

#6- Defribulator “Diary of the Dead” (2007)

Also in:

Top 10 Kills By Zombies

You should remember this one in case you ever have the misfortune of ever being pinned down in a hospital without ammo! Namely, that a defribulator is a dangerous piece of medical equipment. How so? Well, if this movie is to be believed, it can totally fry a zombie’s brain. Boy that’s juicy…

#5- Electrified Fence “Land of the Dead” (2005)

Also in:

Top 10 Zombie Moments

Keeping people confined to an area surrounded by an energy hungry electric fence is of questionable wisdom following the fall of society. However, we can’t argue with the results! These soldiers regularly enjoy watching the odd zombie wonder into their trap to become a light show, before aimlessly wasting ammo for kicks. This one made the list for showcasing a practical kill that practically runs itself!

#4- The Kill Bus “Dawn of the Dead” (2004)

Also in:

Top 20 Smartest Decisions in Zombie Movies

In this remake of the Romero classic, the survivors eventually decide to modify buses and use them to escape their overrun shopping mall. The result are memorably idiotic, if simply because they’re over the top. The first is their decision to use a chainsaw, an idea hits a speed bump. Better still, they decide to explode a propane tank to clear the way! Watch those Zombies go boom!

#3- Kill of the Week “Zombieland” (2009)

Also in:

Top 10 James Bond Kills

While the hero of this movie boasts the status of having made the zombie kill of the week, the actual best zombie kill is revealed to have went to a nun held up at a church. Simply rigging a bell to release a piano, as if assisted by god, because we have no idea how she sprung this heavy trap, but it squishes the attacking zombie flatter than a pancake!

#2- Signal Flare “Survival of the Dead” (2009)

Also in:

Top 10 Horror Survival Guide

In this zombie flick, a national guardsman shows us how jaded he has become by dispatching the undead in one of cinema’s most creative ways. After punching the zombie in the face, he takes out a flare gun and uses it to cook the walking corpse, before using it to light a cigarette and kick it overboard. This is pretty much the definition of a badass nonchalant zombie kill.

#1- Lawnmower “Brain Dead, A.K.A Dead Alive” (1992)

Also in:

Top 10 Smartest Decisions in Zombie Movies

Taking the top spot on our list is the kill that we can’t go without mentioning for infamously requiring the filmmakers to pump out 300 liters, or if you prefer 80 gallons, of fake blood everywhere! The cause? The use of a lawnmower to mulch up the infected! It’s like the helicopter kill, but without the benefit of a windshield, and unquestionable need for elbow grease and a strong constitution! Agree with our list? Which zombie kill do you think is the most awesome? For more entertaining Top 10s, be sure to subscribe to WatchMojo.com.
