Is she still the most interesting character in the series? Oh, without question.
#15: Stella Loussier
“Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny” (2004)
Granted, anyone who ends up as the love interest to Shinn Bloody Asuka aka the most loathed Gundam protagonist in history, already had to be teetering on the fringes of madness, but Stella is…well…something of a tragic case. With the horrors of war already leaving her in a broken state, being forced to pilot a Mobile Suit while her team-mates perpetually used death as a motivating factor…you can see how it was only a matter of time before she snapped. Throw in a giant robot into the mix, and things were always going to get messy.
#14: Ryoko Asakura
“Haruhi Suzumiya” (2006-10)

Unfortunately for her, dishing out so much heartbreak does indeed come back to bite her, but she caused more than her share of chaos while she was kicking.
#12: Roberta
“Black Lagoon” (2006)
This lady is a special kind of dangerous. Why? Because even on an island filled with gangsters and mercenaries, she is still the one to be feared. A walking weapon, there’s no limit to the destruction that Bambietta can cause when she’s ticked off. Even more unsettling appears to be the habits she has in regards to her own soldiers. Apparently getting down and dirty means something completely different to her…on account she prefers to slice any potential partners in half.
#8: Daki
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” (2019-)
As one part of the sixth strongest demon in existence, Daki is all kinds of deadly, able to summon a seemingly limitless number of threads that can bind and slice flesh with ease. She’s also completely without empathy, prone to jealousy, and will eviscerate out anyone who irritates her. The fact she spends her days disguised as a courtesan gives her ample opportunity to kill anyone beguiled by her beauty. Her backstory may be all kinds of sad, but any sympathy shown to her is likely to be returned with a brutal end.
#7: Elsa Granhiert
“Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World” (2016-21)

Not only will she happily toy with you before eating you alive, but she also makes for one of the worst first dates in anime.
#5: Himiko Toga
"My Hero Academia" (2016-)
As is tradition, every supervillain squad needs that one psychotic high schooler with a penchant for stabbing. Or maybe that’s just Toga. An obsession with blood and disturbing outlook on what she finds beautiful would be enough to inspire unease, but given that Toga can also use her quirk to disguise herself into anyone
and use their abilities – she’s one of the League of Villain’s greatest assets. It's hard to tell what’s the worst scenario - if Toga falls in love with you, or if she grows to despise you.
#4: Yuno Gasai
"Future Diary" (2011-12)
One of the most famous yanderes in all of anime, Yuno only cares about two things – her relationship with Yuki, and killing anyone who threatens her relationship with Yuki. Forgoing the fact Yuki is the most useless waste of space protagonists in anime, Yuni’s obsession ensures that is more than happy to bust out the axe if her happiness is in any way disturbed. #3: Dokuro
“Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan” (2005)

That’s Sakura’s reality, and it is a bloody one. Even though Dokuro comes across shy and sweet, whenever she gets flustered, embarrassed or ticked off, out comes her weapon of choice to turn the human boy she’s crushing on into mincemeat. Either that or she’ll just resort to her bare hands. Yikes.
#2: Lucy
“Elfen Lied” (2004)
Vilified, despised and abused for the majority of her life, it’s easy to see how someone like Lucy would want to take revenge on the whole world for her mistreatment. As a Diclonius, Lucy is gifted with numerous, invisible arms known as vectors that can slice apart flesh in an instant - which she uses to great effect when she’s on one of her signature bloodfests. While it’s very easy to see her as both a monster and a victim, the one thing that can’t be debated is that she can and will kill you.
