When he’s not building cars or rockets, he’s popping up in some of your favorite films and TV shows! Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’ll be counting down our picks for the Top 5 Elon Musk Cameos. For this list, we’ll be breaking down the best cameos to date in the film and TV career of businessman and inventor Elon Musk.

#5: “Machete Kills” (2013)

After nearly two hours of hacking, shooting and punching his way through waves of enemies Machete is asked by the President of the United States to travel by rocket into space to track down and kill the evil Luther Voz. Naturally he accepts, and travels to the Space X launch site where he suits up for his next improbable mission. However, prior to boarding the Falcon 9 rocket he is greeted by none other than Space X’s founder and CEO Elon Musk. The two men could literally not be on further ends of the social spectrum, but that doesn’t stop Musk from wishing Machete good luck, throwing in a “get the bastard” for good measure.

#4: “The Simpsons” (1989-)

Elon Musk paid a visit to Springfield back in season 26 – a fact that when said out loud serves as a striking reminder of just how long this show has been on the air. The inventor wastes no time completely transforming the town in his image, mocking many of his own ideas in the process. And while everyone from Homer to Mr. Burns is initially enthralled with Musk’s presence, things take a turn for the worse when they discover all of his inventions are costing the power plant millions, which leads to mass layoffs. The episode ends with Musk leaving on a spaceship, having proved to be more than little Springfield could handle.

#3: “Iron Man 2” (2010)

Sometimes the best cameos only last for a couple of seconds! “Iron Man 2” features two of the worlds most well known billionaire inventors coming face to face, the only caveat being that one of them is fictional. Before his duel with Ivan Vanko and his certifiably badass electro-whips, Stark had a brief but memorable run-in with the man some have dubbed “the real-life Iron Man”. The two share a fleeting exchange of pleasantries that ends with Musk telling Tony about his idea for “an electric jet”. Seeing as how he was nearly split in two on the streets of Monaco just minutes later, we have a hard time believing that Stark remembers the encounter.

#2: “The Big Bang Theory” (2007-)

It’s somewhat surprising that it took nine seasons to get Elon Musk to make a cameo on “The Big Bang Theory”, the show about a group of friends who are both insanely intellectual and endlessly geeky. However, when he finally did it was nothing short of brilliant. Musk runs into Howard, the gang’s resident aerospace engineer, while volunteering at a soup kitchen. They quickly bond over their shared love of space as well as their affinity for helping the less fortunate; something Howard is shamelessly lying about. “Young Sheldon” on the other hand wasted no time getting Musk on the show, as the celebrated inventor had a small cameo in the show’s first season.

#1: “South Park” (1997-)

With the world crumbling all around them, Cartman, Butters and their classmate Heidi Turner head to the Space X building in California in the hope that they will be able to use one of the company’s rockets to escape earth. Instead they end up on a tour of the facility lead by none other than the company’s founder, Elon Musk. Musk ends up sticking around for the next two episodes, as Cartman and the gang continue to search for a way off earth. “South Park” doesn’t usually feature “real” celebrity guest stars, so Musk’s appearance on the show is a testament to both his superstardom, and his sense of humor.
