Top 5 Exciting Details in the Second Jurassic World Dominion Trailer
#5: More Carnotaurus Screen Time
The carnotaurus has fought a long battle to feature in the franchise. Despite having a role in Michael Crichton’s novel “The Lost World”, it was excluded from the screen adaptation, and cut from “Jurassic Park III”. Its genetic material was used to create Indominus Rex in “Jurassic World”, but it didn’t finally appear until “Fallen Kingdom”. The first trailer for “Dominion” revealed Carnotauruses running amok in Malta, and the second extends their screen time, showing them busting free, and later eating a man on a scooter! We also get to see more of the Atrociraptors - lean, mean cousins of the Velociraptors, who also break free in Malta.
#4: The Pyroraptor Can Swim
“Jurassic World Dominion” is bringing feathers to at least one dinosaur, in line with scientific research. Shown in the first trailer, the Pyroraptor is a deadly dromaeosaur that confronts Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady and DeWanda Wise’s Kayla Watts in an icy setting. While researchers do think Pyroraptor had feathers, it was actually about the size of a turkey. So we guess the movie versus science score is a tie here. What the second trailer revealed is that the Pyroraptor can swim underwater! It seems to have webbing on its feet, much like some birds.
#3: BioSyn Employee Ramsay Cole
This genetics company, a rival of InGen, has been part of the franchise all along - you just didn’t know it unless you’d read the books! In the novel, corporate spy Lewis Dodgson, who meets with Denis Nedry, is a BioSyn employee. The company isn’t mentioned in the movie, but it’s their desire to steal Jurassic Park’s secrets that sets the plot in motion. BioSyn will play a role in “Dominion”, which will see the return of Dodgson, this time as BioSyn’s CEO. The second trailer included glimpses of Mamoudou Athie’s character Ramsay Cole, who works for BioSyn. It looks like he’ll play a key role, as he’s seen a few times in the company of the main characters.
#2: More Giganotosaurus
The “Jurassic Park” franchise has a habit of wrangling bigger baddies for the sequels. In “Jurassic Park III”, it was the Spinosaurus. In “Jurassic World”, it was the genetically modified hybrid Indominus Rex. The prologue for “Dominion” introduced us to the Giganotosaurus, which makes short work of a T-Rex. We caught more glimpses in the first trailer, and the second doubles down, showing more shots of this new antagonist terrorizing the main cast. Will Blue come to the rescue again, like she did with the Indominus Rex? We’re not sure, but we can’t wait to see the Giganotosaurus unleash mayhem!

#1: Blue’s Baby Kidnapped
We all wanted pet dinosaurs as kids, but few of us would have put down “Velociraptor” as our first choice. Because, you know, we want our stomachs inside our bodies. That changed with Blue in “Jurassic World”, thanks to her beautiful bond with Owen. The first “Dominion” trailer revealed that Blue now has a baby, but the second trailer suggested that this is the key catalyst for the plot. Blue’s baby will be kidnapped, and Owen will make a promise to rescue her. We also see in the trailer that Owen does rescue Baby Blue at some point, although they don’t seem to be out of the woods yet.
