Script written by Savannah Sher

There were plenty of trends we saw at this year's New York Fashion week! For this coming Fall and Winter season, the runways tell us that long puffer jackets will replace this season's shorter puffer style. We saw tons of bold bright eye makeup and fun glittery/shimmery looks as well! As for accessories there were lots of belts in all different forms, big statement earrings and fun '90s hair accessories! As for the runway set itself, Phillip Plein and Tory Burch's runway blow us away with their set design!

Top 5 Highlights from New York Fashion Week 2018

It may seem far away, but it’s time to learn what the biggest fall trends are going to be. Welcome to MsMojo and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 5 Highlights from New York Fashion Week 2018.
For this list, we’re looking at the most memorable moments from the week, as well as the biggest trends that we see emerging.
#5: Boldest Runway Looks While some of the styles seen on the runway this season will clearly be making it to the high street in no time, some of the wackier looks probably won’t be going on anyone’s wish lists. They were nonetheless exciting though, from the pool noodles and irreverent swimwear at Chromat to the over the top over the knee pink boots at Jeremy Scott to the BDSM inspired collection at Gypsy Sport, there was never a dull moment. And who knows, maybe some of fashion’s most daring players will actually make these looks work in real life.
#4: Accessory Trendss While most eyes are on the clothing trends every time fashion week rolls around, accessories deserve some attention as well. This season, it was near impossible to pick just one reigning look, but there are some clear trend patterns. We can expect to see a lot of statement earrings, based on what we saw at Tom Ford, Oscar de la Renta and Prabal Gurung. We also noticed lots of waists cinched with belts, sometimes making them impossibly tiny like at Carolina Herrera. And if you grew up in the 90s, we’ve got a treat for you. 90’s hair accessories are back with a vengeance, from oversized hair clips to hair comb headbands. Did anyone spot a butterfly clip?
#3: Most Elaborate Runway Stage Designs While in the end it’s all about the sartorial looks, a little drama goes a long way when it comes time for fashion week. Sometimes, the runways and sets upstage the looks themselves, and no one is really complaining. This time around, the show everyone was talking about was Philipp Plein, where otherworldly was in, and Earth was so last season. There was a spaceship, a giant robot, and we guess there were clothes on display? We were planted firmly back in the real world again at Tory Burch, where models traipsed through a field of flowers in what looked to be a dreamscape.
#2: Clothing Trendss In terms of wearable trends that you can expect to see everywhere come fall, these are the ones to watch for. The most notable look was perhaps animal print, which is anything but new, but managed to feel fresh in the hands of Tom Ford and Adam Selman. For anyone living in a cold climate, you’ll be happy to hear that puffer coats are still in, and they’ve gotten even longer. Full length versions were shown at 3.1 Phillip Lim, R13, Tory Burch and Kim Shui. For any Cher Horowitz fans out there, it’s time to pull out your plaid blazers because they’re having another moment!
#1: Beauty Trends : All About The Eyes For the last few seasons, we’ve seen a lot of minimalist makeup, with the focus being put on glowing skin and perhaps a bold lip. Eye makeup has been simple, but it looks like things are finally changing. From bold neon liner, to subtle shimmer to glitter galore, the focus this season was fully on the eyes. Kate Spade showed models with rhinestones on their lids, Alice and Olivia displayed bold all-black looks and there was even gold leaf to be found at Ulla Johnson. The creative cat eyes at Jeremy Scott will definitely be inspiring many, and the bold wash of lid color at Adam Selman is an easy look for anyone to achieve.
