#5: He Doesn’t Rap About the Party Lifestyle

Top 10 Songs That Will Get the Party Started

Logic is about peace, love and positivity. But he doesn’t promote himself as a straightedge angel. For him, the lyrics reflect his creative and personal journey. Logic doesn’t rhyme about drinking and club life because that’s not his reality. Instead, he finds new ways to express himself, whether he’s looking to other artists for inspiration or reflecting on his own hopes and fears. For many MCs, it’s all about the lifestyle and image. But Logic is more focused on making listeners think beyond hip-hop clichés.

#4: He Turned Down Nas to Establish His Own Identity

While Logic may not rap about partying and all that, he does occasionally rhyme about the finer things in life. For example, he references “$100,000 wine” on the single “Numbers”; a reference that caught the attention of Nas, one of the most respected lyricists in the game. When Nas offered Logic a record deal, “Young Sinatra” recognized the downside of following in the icon’s footsteps, and he ultimately turned him down. While many would embrace the opportunity, Logic respectfully declined and stayed true to his own vision. Today, he’s signed to Def Jam Records, one of hip-hop’s most respected labels.

#3: He Featured Neil deGrasse Tyson on the Album “Everybody”

For his third studio album, “Everybody,” Logic collaborated with modern pop culture’s most famous scientist. On the album, though, Neil deGrasse Tyson doesn’t play himself, but rather God, as he guides the protagonist Atom through the afterlife. It’s a surprising guest spot appearance for a hip-hop album, but for Logic, it makes sense given his evolving creativity. As he explained to the scientist himself, Neil has a way of communicating with people on a personal level, and without rubbing them the wrong way. That’s the same attribute that makes Logic so relatable, as he’s always thinking of the best ways to connect with his audience.

#2: He Has a Video Game Channel

Logic has many creative endeavors, but some may be surprised to learn that he’s a real-life gamer. So, on his official YouTube channel, you can expect much more than just music videos and live performances. Like so many video game and movie lovers, Logic enjoys talking about his collection, and his gameplay videos bring him even closer to his fanbase. In April 2016, Logic kicked off his gaming channel, as it’s just another way to kick it and connect with people that have the same interests. Some people like the glitz and glam, but Logic gets down in the game room.

#1: He Promoted Suicide Awareness with "1-800-273-8255”

Throughout out his career, Logic has stayed humble and transparent about his life.  For his international hit “1-800-272-8255,” he was inspired by fans that reached out about the power of his music. Lyrically, the song is about someone calling the Suicide Prevention Line, and how positive dialogue can help change someone’s life. For Logic, it’s representative of his music as a whole, as he promotes positivity and living life to the fullest, all the while being open about how to deal with anxiety and stress. There are many reasons to love Logic, and he clearly loves connecting with his fans.
