For many Latin American teenagers, their 15th birthday celebration, or “Quinceañera,” is a huge deal. But Camila had other plans in 2012, as she thought less about the present and more about her future. Rather than scheduling a party in Miami, where she lived at the time, she traveled with her parents to Greensboro, North Carolina for “The X Factor,” unsure if she’d even be able to audition. Despite a rough start, Camila’s perseverance impressed the producers, especially Simon Cowell, leading to a life-changing moment. And so, not only did Camila make it through, but her composure ultimately led to another big break, as Simon hand-picked her for a brand new group that would become Fifth Harmony.

Camila has plenty of charisma and personality, so it may seem like she’s a natural performer. Yet, it’s been reported that she didn’t actually dance a whole lot before appearing on “The X-Factor,” which proves just how far she’s come since her big break. As a member of Fifth Harmony, Camila received extensive training, of course, yet she’s got a natural sense of rhythm that beautifully complements her stage presence. So, while she might not have been trained before “The X Factor,” her raw talent made the pop star transition much easier, not to mention her strong work ethic, too.

In 2017, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder even admitted that he’s “intimidated” by Camila’s talent, which is quite the compliment from someone that has written hits for artists like Kelly Clarkson, Adele and Beyoncé, to name a few.

The year before, she met a young fan named Joe, who made a significant life transition, inspired by one special Fifth Harmony member. The fan later emerged as “Camila Joe,” which prompted Camila Cabello to celebrate the occasion, along with the concept of individual freedom. So, when these two stars realigned with each other, both Camilas were workin’ that pose.
