Travel Guide: Florida - Top Water Activities
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
The U.S. state of Florida, known for sunny skies and warm temperatures, is also popular for its abundance of water activities. From relaxing days spent sun tanning on the white sand, or playing in the surf with your family, the state's beaches are always a huge draw for tourists. However, to see what lies beneath the water's surface, scuba diving and snorkeling are also great ways to fight the heat. Boating is also popular, from a pleasant afternoon on a cruise ship to a more athletic canoe or kayak ride. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com takes a look at the water activities you can check out while visiting Florida.

Riding the Waves

Whether you’re a pro or an amateur, take a spin riding the waves off Florida’s coast. Surfing has a longstanding history in the state due to the ideal conditions offered by the Floridian waves. If you’re a beginner, make sure to take advantage of one of Florida’s many surf schools to get started.

Beneath the Surface

Florida and snorkeling is a match made in heaven. Not only is snorkeling a great way to observe some of the native marine wildlife of the state, but it’s also an excellent chance to escape Florida’s sometimes oppressive heat.

Scuba is also a great water activity to check out while visiting the Sunshine State. Famous the world over as a fantastic scuba diving and cave diving location, Florida attracts researchers and recreational divers to explore its depths.

Boating

Another way to explore Florida’s waterways is on a boat. A guided pontoon tour through the Everglades is a great way to see the sites. Or sail into the sunset on a breezy sailboat ride. For more athletic travelers, grab a canoe or kayak and traverse the Floridian waterways. Paddle past manatees, herons and turtles for a scenic view of the wildlife. Florida features a number of canoe and kayak trails for you to follow. A fun activity for all ages, you can even paddle right into the heart of the Everglades.
