Travel Guide: Top Hiking Spots in Hawaii
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
While Hawaii might be considered the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway, more energetic travelers will surely find something to do while visiting this tropical American state. Hiking is one way to get some exercise and take in the beautiful vistas, and Hawaii has a number of popular trails. Often referred to as 'The Land that Time Forgot', the Road to Hana is a rugged trail that features a beautiful waterfall. Another interesting site are the lava fields of Hawaii's Big Island. The perfect end to a long day of hiking is to marvel at the sunset across the fields. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com takes a look at a few of Hawaii's most interesting hiking trails.

The Road to Hana

Hawaii is full of spectacular waterfalls, and the Road to Hana is no exception. Often referred to as The Land that Time Forgot, this area is blessed with a flawless landscape. When hiking, make sure to stick to the paths to prevent damage to the area and avoid bugs. You’ll be rewarded when you reach the gorgeous waterfall at Hana.

Hike the Lava Fields

The lava fields of Hawaii’s Big Island are a distinctive setting for a hike. Formed by volcanic activity, the alien landscape is practically devoid of vegetation and features craters and steaming sulfur vents. For example, you’ll find the Halema’uma’u Crater in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, but be careful as it is in an active state of volcanic activity. The trail might be challenging, but well worth it for the remarkable scenery you’ll encounter.

The perfect end to a long day of hiking is to marvel at the sunset across the fields.
