Get Ready To Revisit The Feels
Music in video games has risen to the point where it has become its own art-form. Soundtracks chronicle the various highs and lows that the players and characters experience over several hours of gameplay. More often than not, there’ll always be a slower track that can help elevate a romantic scene with its melody.
Well, a band known as The Travelers have decided to take some of video games’ best romantic tunes and provide covers of their own, albeit with instruments and arrangements you would normally find in the folk genre.
According to an article on Crunchyroll –
Video game music makers The Travelers VGM are back for a second full-length album — this one reminiscing on the great love stories of our favorite games. Ode to the Lovers is ten tracks of fully licensed covers, featuring familiar and well-loved game tunes reimagined in a folk style fitting the genre.
Band members Ian Martyn, Josh Barron, and Masha Lepire wanted to highlight the love stories that create the central storylines of many RPGs. Their arrangements aim for a warm, nostalgic style… such as “Song of Time” from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, now a guitar and viola duet.
