You Can Fight Against (And Play As) Monokuma In Attack On Titan 2

Attack On Fluffiness

As if the Attack on Titan series didn’t have enough despair in it, now it has to deal with the mascot from the Danganronpa franchise!

Yes, in the weirdest of crossovers, the psychotic teddy behind the mutual killing games is set to make his debut in the upcoming video game sequel, where the likes of Eren, Mikasa and the rest will have a chance to cut him to pieces in a boss battle.

Though, according to an article on Crunchyroll, we have seen that Monokuma will also be made as a playable character, complete with his own three-dimensional maneuver gear.

Last week we posted about a tease for an upcoming collaboration that puts Monokuma in Attack on Titan 2: Future Coordinates on 3DS. More details and images have since surfaced, and it looks like Monokuma won’t just be relegated to a single titanic appearance.

In “Attack on Titan and Danganronpa: The Ultimate Collaboration of Despair,” players will be able to dive into bonus missions featuring an attack from giant Titan Monokumas. These Tarako-voiced beasts range from three to 60 meters, and those who clear the missions will get a Monokuma costume for their character.

Yep, that means you’ll be able to zip around with your Maneuver Gear and take down Titans as Monokuma.

In related news, Future Coordinates will feature over 40 characters from the series, including newcomers from season 2 and some additions from the Attack on Titan: No Regrets side story, the appearances of which can be used in the player character editor. If you want customization parts from No Regrets characters, you’ll need to have a save file from Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains or the enhanced re-release.

In addition to the standard missions, “sudden” and “urgent” Base Missions will pop up, forcing you to protect your base from Titans. There are also Birthday missions for characters, which are time sensitive and actually pop up on the character’s specific birthday. Complete those and you’ll receive voices and other rewards.

Junko would be so proud.
