Afterparty: The Video Game Where You Have To Outdrink Satan

You all remember Oxenfree, right? A hauntingly beautiful game that managed to hit all the right notes when it came to suspense and mystery? It was an utter delight, so much so that even Nintendo wanted it on the Switch.

Now it seems that the developers have set their sights on a new project, one that is only slightly different in terms aesthetics and content. It’s called Afterparty; a game where you are sent to hell and have to literally drink the devil under the table. We aren’t joking.

According to an article on Eurogamer –

Night School Studio, the developer of 2016’s brilliant narrative adventure Oxenfree, has revealed its next game, Afterparty.

“In Afterparty, you are Milo and Lola,” says Night School, “recently deceased best buds who suddenly find themselves staring down an eternity in Hell.

“But there’s a loophole: outdrink Satan and he’ll grant you re-entry to Earth. Time to go on the best bender ever, uncover the mystery of why you’ve been damned, and drink the big guy under the table”.

That’s all Night School has to say about Afterparty currently, but, IGN has managed to tease out a little more. Afterparty, it seems, is another narrative-focussed adventure in the same vein as Oxenfree, this time built around a night of debauched pub crawling along the River Styx. Your ultimate goal is to sneak into Satan’s afterparty and drink your way out of Hell.

Here’s hoping that players know how to handle their liquor, because this sounds like it could be as equally investing as it does hilarious. From what we’ve seen so far, the inferno looks oddly spellbinding, Let’s hope that whole package is as strong as the drinks they’ll be serving!
