Final Fantasy XV’s Royal Edition Looks To Be A Kingly Gift!

Another Excuse To Return To Eos

It’s the bromance that refuses to fade. After their initial launch back in 2016, the now beloved protagonists of Final Fantasy XV have ascertained immense popularity. Not only did they manage to land a crossover event with Assassin’s Creed Origins, but poster boy Noctis proved himself to be such a star that he managed to land himself cameo in Tekken 7 as well as a spot on Dissidia Final Fantasy NT’s roster. All in all, the boys have had a very successful couple of years!

However, the ride isn’t over yet, as according to an article on Gamespot, not only is there plenty more DLC planned for 2018, but the game is set to be re-released for consoles in a Game of the Year style bundle known as the Royal Edition.

Final Fantasy XV launched for PS4 and Xbox One in 2016, but PC owners are still waiting to play the open-world RPG. Now, publisher Square Enix has announced the game’s PC port will arrive on March 6.

Additionally, Square Enix has revealed a new version of Final Fantasy XV for PS4 and Xbox One titled the Royal Edition. This bundle–which costs $50 in the US with international pricing yet to be revealed–includes all of the added content coming to the Windows Edition; alternatively, those who already own Final Fantasy XV on console can buy a $20 add-on called the Royal Pack, which includes all of that added content. Finally, the Royal Edition comes with new box art from long-time Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano.

That might not be the end for Final Fantasy XV content, however: the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, said recently that he hopes to release more DLC packs for the game in 2018.
