The two began dating in 2011 while working on the film, Wanderlust, and were engaged within the next year, eventually tying the knot on August 5, 2015. A source close to Aniston told People that the couple “saw each other late at night on Valentine’s Day in L.A.” Upon meeting up, they mutually chose to announce their separation the next day. Theroux had previously been absent from Aniston’s 49th birthday on the 11th.
2. They Made a Public Statement
According to their AP statement, Aniston and Theroux decided to break this news publicly “in an effort to reduce any further speculation” and “to convey the truth directly.” Although they didn’t officially announced their separation until now, the decision “was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year.â€
