The Front Runner: Anker PowerCore 10,000mAh Portable Charger

This 10,000mAh power bank is one of the most portable options out there, offering enough power to comfortably recharge two cell phones – with power to spare. It may not be as fast as some other power banks, but for its respective power output, it’s fast enough. Compatible with both Android and Apple smartphones, this $30 Anker power bank has over 21,000 consumer reviews on Amazon, 82 per cent of which are 5 star. That’s impressive.

The Comparable: RAVPower 20,000mAh Power Bank

If you’re after a bit more juice, then this RAVPower model offers twice as much as the aforementioned Anker model, with 20,000mAh. This model is a little bulkier, but it’s still incredibly streamlined and portable – and only costs around $30. Plus, it’s capable of charging two devices at the same time, with enough power to completely recharge both a mobile and tablet device simultaneously. And it too is compatible with both Android and Apple products.

The Wireless One: Aukey PB-Y25 8,000mAh Wireless Charging Power Bank

For those who dislike being entangled in wires, Aukey has this wireless power bank model. Capable of charging a multitude of different Qi-compatible devices, from smartphones to handheld game consoles, this $30 USB-C and USB-A power bank can charge two devices at the same time. And for those worried about limiting themselves to wireless charging, fear not, it can also be used as a regular wired power bank.

The Mini One: Poweradd Slim 2 5,000mAh Power Bank

Most portable power banks are relatively compact, but this one is in a whole different league. At around four inches long and one inch wide, this highly-portable power bank is available in a range of different colors and has been praised for its particularly impressive short-term charging speed. It may only offer one output port and 5,000mAh of power, but it’s ideal for those who want to stay streamlined – and it costs just around $12!

The Laptop One: MAXOAK 50,000mAh Laptop Power Bank

For those who frequently travel with multiple devices – including laptops, MAXOAK has this behemoth 50,000mAh/185Wh power bank. Capable of charging six devices at once, like a laptop, phone and tablet, this thing is more like a portable generator than a power bank, and it’s ideal for when you are working away on a train or in a coffee shop and need to give your tech a boost. It’s not for air travel, as due to its capacity, it’s not TSA-approved. It’s pricey, at around $130, but if portable peace of mind is what you’re after, then look no further.
