After they got fired from the Hawkins Post, Nancy and Jonathan get into a argument. Both sides have good points. Nancy for saying that Jonathan doesn't not what is to a woman being harassed and Jonathan for saying that Nancy doesn't know is to be poor and depending on every money you can make
After a drunk Nancy says that she doesn't love Steve. Steve storms out and leaves Nancy. Jonathan who's also at the party, brings Nancy home. Jonathan helps her get into her room.
