Top 10 Most Wanted Worlds for Kingdom Hearts 3

There are no more dreams dropping, memory chaining, three fifty eights, sleeping births, and re:codes. “Kingdom Hearts III” is coming... eventually. Until then, welcome to WatchMojo.com, and we’ll be counting down the Top 10 Most Wanted Worlds for Kingdom Hearts 3.

For this list we’ll be looking at the worlds we’d love to explore in the next installment of Kingdom Hearts. This list focuses on the Disney side of things since those are the worlds you play through the most. We’re also only featuring worlds that haven’t appeared in the series yet because, one trip to the hundred acre wood enough.

#10: “Princess and the Frog” (2009)

Who didn’t want to go to New Orleans after the release of this movie? The culture, the food, the mystical shadow men singing catchy numbers and turning you into a grog. Thanks to “Kingdom Hearts II” and the Pride Lands world, we can easily envision animal forms for Sora. How adorable would our lead character be as a bouncy frog armed with a keyblade made of lilypads…or something? And then Donald could be a firefly and Goofy could be an alligator…oh wait, they’re already animals. Anyway, let’s head on down to
The Big Easy.

#9: “Darkwing Duck” (1991-92)

Why haven’t there been any worlds paying homage to the Disney Afternoon? Scrooge McDuck and his nephews are already in Birth By Sleep, so why can’t we go to Duckburg? Or Cape Suzette? Or, the greatest world of all: St. Canard! Why St. Canard, you ask? Because that’s where the terror flaps in the night lurks. That’s where we could get dangerous. How awesome would it be to have DW as an allie? Donald could be a closeted Darkwing fanboy who collects action figures... please make this happen.

#8: “Frozen” (2013)

This one comes as no surprise, the question is, how would this world be executed in “Kingdom Hearts III?” Would we help Anna save her sister? Would we help Elsa discover the power of friendship and love? Would Goofy find a kindred spirit in Olaf? Most importantly: would we be able to smack Hans around with our keyblade? What we’d really love to do is leave Sora behind and take control of Kairi (KY- REE) for the potential female triple threat of her, Anna, and Elsa.

#7: “The Jungle Book” (1967)

When “Kingdom Hearts” was first released we got to take to the trees of “Tarzan.” It only made us want more jungle themed worlds, and we had the perfect candidates to fulfill the task: Mowgli, Baloo, and the villainous Shere Khan. “Birth by Sleep” was all set to deliver that ultimate jungle adventure, but the world was removed from the game. You can still access what could’ve been with cheat codes, which only supports the theory that this world is a bear necessity.

#6: “Monsters, Inc.” (2001)

An entire world where monsters use doors to travel from house to house? Gee, what other popular Disney franchise deals with doors? Seriously, Monstropolis fits so well that the premise writes itself. Not to mention the movie’s message of laughter being more effective than screams is perfect for “Kingdom Hearts” and its focus on friendship and light. Still not on board? Well, how about this: Sulley or Mike could be on your team – ‘nough said.

#5: “Treasure Planet” (2002)

We didn’t have this world in our minds until we saw this clip. While this ship isn’t in the air, it did stir our curiosity. Reviews for Disney’s sci-fi take on “Treasure Island” were pretty good, but back then, “pretty good,” was below the Disney standard. It’s become one of Disney’s forgotten gems of sorts, so it’d be pretty neat if Square Enix and Disney “went big or went home” and included some worlds from properties that haven’t gotten any love in a long time. The Spaceport in a particular just screams video games with it’s crescent mood design – where have we seen that before?

#4: “Wreck-It Ralph” (2012)

Going inside the computer for “Tron” was one thing, but a video game that has a world about video games within the game? And characters in that game world who are aware that they’re video game characters? The conversations alone would be worth the price of admission. And while it would probably be impossible to get a cameo from Zangief, we’d absolutely love a speech from Street Fighter’s Russian giant about Kingdom Hearts.

#3: “Wall-E” (2008)

We’d love to see the appearance of a certain adorable Disney/Pixar robot, one who says names like a Pokemon has large eyes, and... all right, you know who we’re talking about. Part of the movie takes place on a wasteland formally known as Earth, so why not plop the cleaning bot into the wasteland of the keyblade graveyard? If that’s too farfetched -- even if the entire idea of “Kingdom Hearts” is pretty farfetched -- we’d settle for a Eve summon.

#2: “Star Wars” franchise (1977-)

As soon as Disney got a hold of LucasArts, many were wondering if it meant that “Kingdom Hearts III” would travel to a galaxy far, far away. The same can be said about Marvel, but the idea of lightsabers in Kingdom Hearts feels like a better fit than web slinging. It helps that we’ve already had “Tron” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” to prove that action properties can be done well. Sora already travels by gummi ship, so epic space battles are just a Millennium Falcon away.

Before we get to our number one most wanted world, let’s take a look at some honorable mentions:

“Tangled” (2010)

“The Muppets” (1955-)

“A Bug’s Life” (1998)

“Brave” (2012)

“Atlantis: The Lost Empire” (2001)

#1: “Toy Story” franchise (1995-)

There’s one world that been on our Kingdom Hearts radar for infinity... and beyond! No matter how many Disney movies appeared in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, we always found ourselves wanting to play alongside Woody and Buzz. More importantly, we wanted to become toy versions of Kingdom Hearts characters! We really, really want this world in “Kingdom Hearts III” so we can face the likes of Sid, Zurg, Stinky Pete and lotso, unleashing the fanatical toy collector in all of us.

Do you agree with our list? What world do you want to be a part of in Disney and Square Enix’s grand adventure? For more top 10s published daily, be sure to equip your keyblade and subscribe to WatchMojo.com.
