#10: Oprah Winfrey

Becoming the most successful daytime talk show host ever does have its perks. Oprah purchased this California dream home, referred to as The Promised Land, in 2001 and reportedly took its name from a speech by Martin Luther King Jr. The property covers 42 acres and cost $52 million to purchase. However, not a dime of that money is wasted. The home includes six bedrooms, 14 bathrooms, two theaters, a tennis court, 10 fireplaces, a wine cellar, a manmade lake and even a teahouse for when a quiet conversation is in order. A beautiful piece of architecture, this home does not disappoint!

#9: Will Smith

He may still be the Fresh Prince, but Bel-Air is definitely in the rear-view mirror. Sitting on 25,000 square feet of land in Calabasas, California, this gigantic mansion has more than its fair share of breathtaking features. The backyard is adorned with a beautiful swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, and a full sized lake. Incorporating details from Middle Eastern, African and Asian architecture, the home features a front door that was recovered from a fort in Northern India. Valued at $42 million, the home also includes a recording studio where the youngest of the Smith clan, Willow, recorded her hit single “Whip My Hair”. Uncle Phil sure would be proud.

#8: Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods is one of the most famous and controversial athletes of all time. He also has one helluva house! Located on Jupiter Island in Florida, this $39 million dollar home – now worth $60 million by the way - is decked out with its own four-hole golf course, a 100-foot lap pool, a diving pool, 100-foot running track and a dock for the golf pro’s 155-foot yacht. The rest of the 10,000 square foot property is made up of a main home that includes a wine cellar and media room, and four adjoining buildings used as a boathouse, golf training studio, garage and guesthouse. Not a bad place to get away from it all.

#7: Kanye West & Kim Kardashian

When one of you is running the rap game and the other is one of the most famous reality TV stars of all time, you need a house to match. Not to worry, with $20 million dollar's worth of house, Kanye and Kim have exactly that. Located in Hidden Hills, California, the home features two swimming pools, two spas, a fountain and even a vineyard! The interior includes eight bedrooms, complemented by his and her walk-in closets, a steam room, sauna and a full gym. #6: Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi

TV host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, actress Portia de Rossi, share a passion for flipping properties. As of 2016, they are inhabiting a Santa Barbara villa that is decked out with an array of modern furniture, beautiful kitchenware, and an impressive book collection. The home also includes nine fireplaces and a Roman column dating all the way back to 200 B.C. Covering 13 acres and purchased for around $22 million, this house was built in the late 1920s. Emulating many of the villas found in Italy’s Tuscany region, this celebrity abode is dripping in rustic charm.

#5: Aaron Spelling

This sprawling estate once belonged to famed television producer Aaron Spelling. Known for his work on Charlie’s Angels, Dynasty and Beverly Hills 90210, Spelling actually demolished a 1932 mansion formerly owned by Bing Crosby to make way for the monstrous home. The Manor, or Spelling Manor, is the largest home in Los Angeles County, with 123 rooms, a square footage of 56,000 feet and parking for 100 cars. But wait! There's more! The home also includes a gym, tennis court, bowling alley, a pool, four 2 car garages, and three rooms just for gift wrapping... because... well... yeah. Spelling built the home in 1988 for $12m and walked away with a tidy profit when it was sold to F1 heiress Petra Stunt for $85m in 2011.

#4: Bill Gates

When you’re one of the richest men on the planet, only an architectural masterpiece will do. The home of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates took $63.2 million and seven years to complete. The 66,000 square foot property is located along Lake Washington, in Washington State and features a 60-foot swimming pool with underwater music system, well stocked library, a 2,500 square foot gym and a 1,000-square-foot dining hall. The home also includes heated floors and makes use of a sustainable architecture practice known as earth sheltering; whereby earth is used against building walls to reduce heat loss. Maybe it’s time you got into the software business…

#3: Elvis Presley

The former home of Elvis Presley is as relevant today as it was during the King's heyday. Declared a National Historic Landmark in 2006, the home-turned-museum attracts over 650,000 visitors a year. Purchased in 1957 for the tidy sum of $102,500, this mansion is doused in decadence from floorboards to shingles. With a square footage of 17,552, the home has 23 rooms, including a recording studio where Elvis recorded the majority of his last 2 albums. Since his death, the home has been remodeled to include a Trophy Building - complete with awards, gold records, movie posters and even Elvis’s wedding tux. While The King may be gone, his memory lives on through the majesty of Graceland.

#2: Hugh Hefner

Equal parts lavish, beautiful and downright sexy, the world famous Playboy mansion hardly needs an intro. The home is notorious for its extravagant parties, endless amenities, and of course, a bevy of beautiful women from across the globe. Hugh Hefner acquired the property in 1971 for a cool $1.1 million; incredibly, the home was sold in 2016 for $100 million. The L.A. mansion comes equipped with 22 rooms with a Prohibition-style wine cellar, zoo, screening room, tennis and basketball courts, massive swimming pool complete with waterfall and, of course, the infamous grotto. Throughout the years, various events have been held at the property including boxing matches, music video and film shoots - and it was the focus of a reality TV show in 2005. Not exactly quaint!

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions:
- Michael Jordan
- Jerry Seinfeld
- Donald Trump

#1: Michael Jackson

This infamous California abode was home to pop legend Michael Jackson for almost 20 years. Purchased for an undisclosed amount in 1988, the Tudor-style mansion would soon become a full-fledged amusement park. Dubbed “Neverland” in reference to Peter Pan, the Ranch saw Jackson install two railroads, a Ferris wheel, pirate ship, carousel, bumper cars, and a roller coaster on the vast property. Jackson, however, ceased living at Neverland Ranch following a police investigation of the ranch in the mid-2000s and almost lost the property in 2008. Things around Neverland have only gotten worse since Jackson's 2009 death, as many of the amusement rides are gone, and the home is in need of repair. It’s has even been put on the market with an asking price of $100m. But in its glory days, Neverland was truly a place to be seen!
