Supervillain Origins: Dr. Hugo Strange

While Dr. Hugo Strange has never appeared in any live-action Batman television series or films, the character actually predates the Joker as the Caped Crusader's primary antagonist. This mad scientist has the habit of disappearing, leading everyone to believe he is dead. However, he always comes back with a vengeance to take on his nemesis. Part genius, part madman, Strange is one of the few to have discovered Batman's true identity. He even used this knowledge to overtake The Dark Knight and to become The Batman.
