7 Things You Should Know About Just Cause 2 It’s the wildly Amusing go-anywhere, do-anything sequel by Swedish developer Avalanche Studios and Eidos Interactive. Welcome to Watchmojo.com, and today we’ll be taking a look at the 7 things you should know about Just Cause 2. Number 1: The Plot The game once again centers on the exploits of CIA Black Ops Agent Rico Rodriguez. This time Rico is off to find his friend and mentor, who has gone rogue, and in the process take down a ruthless dictator who controls the Island of Pinau with an Iron Fist. Number 2: The Setting Unlike the previous title, you will no longer be visiting a real-world locale. Instead, you will explore the large fictional Island of Panau, located somewhere between southeastern Asia and Australia. Despite this, the game does take its visual cues from the likes of New Zealand and Hawaii Number 3: Gameplay Like before, you will be given a vast sandbox environment to play in. As such, you will be free to roam and tackle the game’s storyline whenever it suits you, resulting in a 30-40 hour GTA-style romp of self-amusement and destruction. However, to progress through the story you will need to either destroy or liberate designated targets to the earn points and funds necessary to progress to the next mission and purchase upgrades. Number 4: The Enemies Unlike the previous entry, enemies will now use the environment to their advantage. So while enemies used to be dimwitted, the improved AI enemies take cover, adapt to moving objects and feature an adaptive difficulty mechanic. As a result, enemies will learn and get smarter as you advance through the game. Number 5: Special Tools Just Cause 2 separates itself from the competition through its new focus on special tools, which give your character superhero-like abilities. These include the Dual-Grappling Hook and reloadable stunt parachute. Like Spiderman, the Dual Grappling hook gives Rico the ability to tether objects together or grapple between surfaces. Interestingly, there are no limitations to what can be tethered and you can use the tool to subdue enemies in any way imaginable. Likewise, the stunt parachute can be used as much as you like when leaping from high objects. Interestingly, merging the two special tools will allow you to perform a “slingshot maneuver” in which you can scale portions of the map. Number 6: New Weapons In this game, players will have access to an array of new and exciting weapons. These include a multipurpose grappling hook, laser-guided rocket launcher, a one-handed grenade launcher, remote detonated C4 and detachable mounted mini-guns. As Rico doesn’t have official support from his agency, he must acquire weapons through the black market. Number 7: The Vehicles In Just Cause 2 a much greater amount of attention has been given to your method of transportation. As a result, vehicles are much more distinguishable in terms of handling and you must take the terrain into consideration, as now off-road situations call for a vehicle that’s up to the challenge. Vehicles can still be commandeered, or ordered via helicopter from your arms supplier. Plus, in a first for the franchise they will be subject to a real-time deform system, as bumps and crashes will cause your ride to crush and break apart. No game provides as much of a riot and deliciously destructive time at Just Cause 2. As a result, it has already been hailed as the best and most "zany" sand-boxer available this generation
