With a brand new movie out, it's time to look back at the "Jackass" cast to see how their lives turned out. For this list, we’ll be looking at the stunt performers who molded “Jackass” into the painfully funny franchise that it is today, seeing what they’ve been up to in recent years. Our list includes Bam Margera, Chris Pontius, Johnny Knoxville, and more! Who’s your favorite “Jackass” cast member? Let us know now.

#10: “Danger Ehren” McGhehey

Let’s commence our countdown with the cast member who lives by the saying “Safety First.” Of course, when you’re “Danger Ehren” McGhehey, that should be taken with a grain of salt and sarcasm. Often the butt of the joke, McGhehey has endured numerous painful stunts and pranks. While seen as all in good fun onscreen, McGhehey recently revealed that he wasn’t always laughing behind the scenes. Following the latest “Cup Test” from “Jackass Forever,” the doctor informed McGhehey that he likely wouldn’t be able to have children. McGhehey disproved the medical professionals, welcoming daughter Cedar Moon into the world while shooting the new “Jackass” feature. Outside of guest appearances on shows like “Grimm” and “Portlandia,” McGhehey has kept busy with his photography website.

#9: Brandon “Dico” DiCamillo

Before there was “Jackass,” there was the “CKY.” Brandon DiCamillo produced this sidesplitting series along with Bam Margera, helping the lay the groundwork for what would become “Jackass.” While DiCamillo went on to appear in the “Jackass” TV series and the first two theatrical films, DiCamillo has been mostly MIA lately outside of archived footage. In 2017, “CKY” producer Joe Frantz confirmed that DiCamillo had walked away from the crew. Although Frantz hadn’t spoken to him since around 2009, he believes that DiCamillo simply wanted to settle down with his family. DiCamillo wasn’t especially interested in going Hollywood, describing MTV as “too corporate.” Several “CKY” members reunited for Chris Raab’s podcast in 2018, although DiCamillo reportedly turned down the chance to appear.

#8: Dave England

Dave England went from being a professional snowboarder to the “world’s first professional…”, well, England would use a more colorful word, but let’s just say “defecator.” England is known for his angry drunk alter ego, “Darf,” and the infamous “Vomelet” bit that almost didn’t make it to air. England continues to participate in “Jackass” as a performer and writer. Behind the scenes, England had two children, daughter Ruby and son Roan, with his first wife. After marrying Shawna Evans in 2013, he became a father to two more sons, Clyde and Van Alexander. Outside of “Jackass,” England popped up in 2016’s “The Bet,” the last film featuring Roddy Piper. Speaking of professional wrestlers, England and several other “Jackass” members dropped by “WWE SmackDown” in 2021.

#7: Preston Lacy

When “Jackass” was first getting started, Preston Lacy was the final main cast member to enlist, making the cut by eating four bananas… without removing the peels. While Lacy has since appeared in films like “Guest House” and programs like “Royal Rumble,” he’s still best known for his work on “Jackass.” Lacy is frequently paired with “Wee Man,” often chasing after his co-star while stripped down to a t-shirt and underpants. Of course, sometimes the tables are turned. The same year “Jackass 3D” came out, Lacy was arrested for possessing weed and rolling papers, but he hasn’t had any major legal problems since. He continues to perform standup comedy on tour and keeps his fans up to date on social media.

#6: Chris Pontius

Never afraid to show a little skin while injuring himself, Chris Pontius followed up the original “Jackass” series with “Wildboyz,” a spinoff starring himself and Steve-O. Aside from reality TV, Pontius has taken on several acting gigs, from cameos in films like “Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle,” to supporting roles like Sammy in Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere,” to sitcom guest spots on “Raising Hope.” He even reteamed with Johnny Knoxville as Benny in the comedy film “Action Point.” Pontius married Claire Nolan in 2004, although the marriage officially ended in 2013. He went on to marry Mae Pontius, having a son together named Axe in 2019. Being known for his Pontius the Barbarian character, Amanda Adelson and Spike Jonze couldn’t resist getting little Axe the proper attire.

#5: Jason “Wee Man” Acuña

Top 20 Badass Jason Statham Moments

Affectionately nicknamed “Wee Man,” Jason Acuña is one of the most recognizable faces in the “Jackass” franchise. While part of that’s because he has a form of dwarfism, Acuña’s fearless, outgoing personality is what’s made him a fan favorite. His star power even led to solo features like “Elf-Man.” Before “Jackass,” Acuña served as a subscription manager for the “Big Brother” skateboarding magazine, notably appearing on a 1996 cover in blue body paint. We’re all familiar with the stunt performer, skateboarder, and Oompa-Loompa look-alike, but we bet you didn’t know that Acuña is something of an entrepreneur. He’s invested in chains like Chronic Tacos, has his own line of skate socks, and occasionally rents the event space he owns to “Dateline NBC.”

#4: Stephen “Steve-O” Glover

Although several crew members have nicknames, it feels weird calling Stephen Glover anything other than Steve-O. In addition to “Wildboyz,” Glover went on to star in the spinoff “Dr. Steve-O.” On the subject of doctors, a 2006 bender resulted in Glover being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy. This fortunately turned out to be a misdiagnosis, but Glover eventually confronted his addictions and mental health struggles. In 2021, it was reported that he had been sober for 13 years. Glover has also risen up as an animal rights activist with one SeaWorld protest sending him to jail for eight hours. His fiance, Lux Wright, shares a similar passion for animals. Steve-O is showing no signs of slowing down, performing standup, hosting a podcast, and continuing the “Jackass” legacy.

#3: Bam Margera

Bam Margera’s success with “Jackass” led to the spinoffs “Viva La Bam” and “Bam’s Unholy Union,” which featured even more of his long-suffering parents, April and Phil. Margera’s other ventures have extended to indie filmmaking and music. Unfortunately, Margera’s history with alcoholism remains an unstable rollercoaster. He’s faced numerous relapses, stints at rehab, and run-ins with the law. Although Margera briefly appears in “Jackass Forever,” he was fired during production. In a series of now-deleted Instagram videos, Margera told off Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze, and director Jeff Tremaine, the latter of whom filed a restraining order. Margera responded with a lawsuit against them while his wife, Nikki, has filed for custody of their son, Phoenix Wolf. We sincerely hope that Margera can turn things around.

#2: Ryan Dunn

How Ryan Gosling Prepared to Play Ken

June 20, 2011 remains the saddest day in “Jackass” history. Less than a year after “Jackass 3D” hit theaters and nine days after his 34th birthday, a car accident claimed Ryan Dunn’s life in Pennsylvania. With Dunn driving under the influence, the crash also resulted in the death of passenger Zachary Hartwell, a “Jackass Number Two” crew member. Hartwell’s parents have pursued a wrongful-death lawsuit, although the outcome - if any - remains unknown to the public. Dunn left behind long-term partner Angie Cuturic, his family, a legion of fans, and a group of close friends. In addition to a documentary tribute, “Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa” would be dedicated to Dunn’s memory. Dunn also put the “Forever” in “Jackass Forever” with a touching moment during the mid-credits.

#1: Johnny Knoxville

Top 20 Johnny Depp Performances

No crew member is more synonymous with “Jackass” than Johnny Knoxville. Being the charismatic face of the franchise, Knoxville has found the most solo success. He appeared in big budget films like “The Dukes of Hazzard,” voiced Leonardo in 2014’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and took center stage in the Oscar-nominated “Bad Grandpa.” Yes, we can officially call the “Jackass” franchise Oscar-nominated! Considering that he’s now in his 50s and endured some brain damage during the bull stunt in “Jackass Forever,” we wouldn’t blame Knoxville if he gave up ridiculous stunts for good. He’s earned the right to live peacefully with his wife and children. If “Jackass 5” does ever happen, though, we hope Knoxville remains involved. It just isn’t “Jackass” without him.
