Whether you’re a casual mobile player, a proficient multi-tasker, or are serious about your gaming, this phone is a worthy choice. It’s not solely due to its specifications - which are great - but due to the fact you have two screens you can utilize. Touchscreen controls that have a UI can sometimes get in the way, so you can use the phone’s dual-screen to take advantage of that, allowing all your controls to appear on one screen and have a clean gaming experience on the other. Or, you can just have Facebook messenger open while you play if you’re not that into the game.

#9: Samsung Galaxy A20s

We’re going to be honest here, given how affordable this phone is, you could probably buy it as your dedicated gaming phone that’s secondary to your primary. It’s got a 3.5 millimeter audio jack, so you don’t need to fork out for Bluetooth headphones either, and its screen is massive, perfect for entertainment. While there are certain compromises on the overall device to achieve that low price point, specs aren’t one of them. Games run incredibly smoothly, and overall performance is fantastic. You’ll probably wonder why you’ve been getting flagship phones all the time after you play around with the A20s.

#8: Razer Phone 2

For anyone who likes their games looking silky-smooth, this is a perfect choice. With a refresh rate of 120hz (hertz) and HDR, you won’t want to blink. Razer has always been gaming-focused, so of course, their phone will tick all the boxes. Its CPU will pass all sorts of stress tests and outshine many other phones on the market, and you can expand your storage with a microSD so you can load up every game on the Play Store. Also, if you’re ultra-serious about gaming, you’ll be taking your phone to the beach, so the IP67 water resistance display will keep you covered there.

#7: Huawei P30 Pro

While the phone took the world by storm with its excellent camera sensor and software, it’s also a proficient gaming machine. If you’re like us, you’re going to drain your battery pretty fast when you’re gaming, so it’s essential you can get back in action as quickly as possible. The P30’s fast charging capabilities allow you to go from 0% battery to 100% in under an hour. Its current specifications mean you’ll be able to play any game at a smooth frame-rate, so be on the look-out for those PC quality games.

#6: OnePlus 8 Pro

With its 256 gigabytes of internal storage, you'll be able to store pretty much every game you want. With its 12GB DDR4 RAM, you’ll be able to play any game you wish to, and with its 4,510mAh battery, you’ll be able to play for a lot longer than other phones can maintain. The Dolby Atmos audio allows you to be fully immersed - so long as you’re not playing in a packed mall - and the 2K display will have everything rendered at a high resolution, allowing you to see every minute detail the game has to offer.

#5: Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20 Plus

If the A20s is on this list, you can be sure Samsung’s flagship is too. Gaming for hours on end requires a comfortable device, and you can be sure the S20 caters to that. It’s light, and its curved edges fit your hands perfectly. You also have your 120Hz display and stereo speakers to accompany the phone’s design. Most games will run at a constant 60fps (frames per second), if not 120fps for supported games. If you wanted to add extra peripherals to make games easier to control, the phone allows you to do that too.

#4: Black Shark 3

A dedicated gaming phone that’s cheaper than flagships but just as powerful. What could go wrong? Well… nothing, really. You can even customize the RGB lights and effects on the back of the device to really get into the gaming theme. With two front-facing speakers, you won’t run the risk of damping your audio when holding the phone too. The phone even has a dedicated gaming mode, changing the UI and disabling notifications, which really makes it seem like you’re playing a portable gaming console as opposed to a phone.

#3: Nubia Red Magic 5G

We all know gaming devices can get hot with high-intensity gaming, and mobile devices are no different. What sets the Red Magic apart from most of its competitors is its cooling system, with vents on either side of the phone. It can get loud, but you can always turn it off if you’re not playing a performance heavy game. You’ve also got an insanely high refresh rate display of 144Hz and assignable triggers on the phone itself, which means you don’t have to purchase additional peripherals. Similar to the Black Shark, you have a dedicated gaming mode too.

#2: Asus ROG Phone 3

Here it is. You won’t find a better Android mobile gaming device than this phone here. With 16gb ram, you’ll have more than a lot of gaming PC’s, and its 6000mAh battery means you won’t have to charge your phone every night either. Its refresh rate is on par with the Red Magic 5G, and the phone supports a lot of accessories that can enhance your gaming experience, such as dual screens, controllers, and a cooling system. Once you’re done kitting this thing out, it won’t even look like a phone anymore.

#1: iPhone 12

It’s finally here. Apple’s iPhone 12 comes with the new A14 bionic processor, which boosts game performance immensely from its predecessor and - and that’s saying a lot, as the 11 Pro is a phenomenal phone for gaming too. It beats pretty much every other phone on the market. Apple does well because it delivers on all fronts, and there are no false promises. The 12 is fast, optimized, has a great screen, and is built upon previous editions for constant improvement. It’s going to run all games at a silky smooth frame rate. Gaming enthusiasts should definitely consider the new iPhone.
