VOICE OVER: Emily - WatchMojo WRITTEN BY: Sammie Purcell
The best TV couples of 2020 made us believe in love. Our countdown includes "The 100," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Schitt's Creek," and more!

#10: John Murphy & Emori
“The 100” (2014-20)

Top 10 Times John Krasinski Couldn't Keep a Straight Face on The Office

These two prove true love can happen anywhere – even after the apocalypse. John and Emori met in season two, and what’s made watching this relationship so special is seeing the effect they have on each other – or more specifically, how Emori makes John a better person. We know that the whole “bad boy with a heart of gold” thing might not work in real life, but that doesn’t stop us from loving it here. John starts off as kind of a villain, but through Emori he becomes better. He eventually proposes to her, and in the final season, the two once again show that their love knows no bounds.

#9: Luke & Julie Molina
“Julie and the Phantoms” (2020-)

Also in:

Top 10 Times Luke Was the Best on Modern Family

Romance, the supernatural, and ‘90s music - what’s not to love about this Netflix musical comedy drama? While there are a lot of fans of Willie and Alex out there, we couldn’t ignore the powerful chemistry between Julie and Luke. There hasn’t been any real physical interaction between the two during season 1, but this is partly due to the age difference between the actors. There’s also the fact that Luke’s well…. a literal ghost. But, these two don’t need physical affection to prove their love – just music! The connection between Luke and Julie is palpable when they sing, and we desperately hope for more new songs in season two.

#8: Jake Peralta & Amy Santiago
“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (2013-)

Also in:

Top 10 Funniest Jake Peralta Undercover Moments

From the very beginning of this delightful comedy, fans have known there was something special between Detectives Jake Peralta and Amy Santiago – even when they were at each other’s throats. Early seasons showed the pair as friendly coworkers who are frequently at odds, but their relationship has grown from competitive to romantic over the seasons – and it seems like they just keep getting stronger. From marriage in season five to a baby in season seven, there’s no slowing down this dynamic duo. That’s gonna be a “cool cool cool cool cool” from us!

#7: Jamie & Claire Fraser
“Outlander” (2014-)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Jamie & Claire Moments on Outlander

Considering their whirlwind, time-traveling, globe-trotting romance, how could you NOT be in love with Jamie and Claire? From the very beginning, these two have had serious chemistry, and we have loved tuning in to watch that chemistry… um… physically manifest, if you will! In more recent seasons, however, the two have finally found a little more peace. They definitely haven’t lost that fire, but - thankfully - time travel doesn’t get in the way as much anymore. Plus, the two can now enjoy being reunited with their daughter, making their family more complete. We’re happy they all found happiness on Fraser’s Ridge!

#6: Connell Waldron & Marianne Sheridan
“Normal People” (2020)

Moving right along from one steamy couple to another: “Normal People” took the world by storm in 2020, and most of the hype had to do with its central couple, Connell and Marianne. The internet spent weeks thirsting over the show’s more intimate scenes, the chemistry between the two leads, and of course - lest we forget - Connell’s chain. That beautiful, beautiful chain. But in all seriousness, the connection between Connell and Marianne was more than just physical, and audiences latched onto the deep emotional bond between the pair. We’re not sure if a season two of this show will ever be in the works - the first ends ambiguously like the book does - but we would never say no to more Connell and Marianne.

#5: Vanya Hargreeves & Sissy Cooper
“The Umbrella Academy” (2019-)

“The Umbrella Academy” had a strong first season, but introducing this particular love story in season two proved a smart choice. Vanya and Sissy meet in the 1960s, and things are complicated from the start – like the kind of complicated where Vanya has amnesia, and Sissy is married to someone else. Not exactly ideal for true love, but these two made it work! At least for a while. Unfortunately, Vanya had to return to modern times, and Sissy needed to stay behind for her son. But we’re excited what the future - or past - might hold for these two in the next season.

#4: Amelia Shepherd & Atticus “Link” Lincoln
“Grey’s Anatomy” (2005-)

Grey’s Anatomy has been on our screens since 2005 – and we’ve been through a LOT of drama with all of the couples at what was originally known as Seattle-Grace Hospital. Seriously, what’s in the water at this place? But, Amelia and Link really shine as one of the show’s newer couples. When the pair first meet, they try to avoid each other - they work together after all! But when has that ever stopped any of these doctors before? Amelia and Link couldn’t deny their chemistry, and after MANY ups and downs, now have a baby together. We can’t wait to see what crazy scenarios Shonda Rhimes throws at these two next!

#3: Lucifer Morningstar & Detective Chloe Decker
“Lucifer” (2016-)

Also in:

Top 10 Best Lucifer & Chloe Moments

Things got steamy for our favorite crime solving devil in 2020! For four long seasons, Chloe and Lucifer have been dancing around their feelings. While the attraction was always there, it’s just been deny, deny, deny….until now. In the show’s fifth season, Lucifer and Chloe finally got together officially. It sure took them long enough! The two started out butting heads – and still do sometimes – but their love and respect for each other won out in the end. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this devilish duo.

#2: David Rose & Patrick Brewer
“Schitt’s Creek” (2015-20)

Also in:

Top 10 Best David & Patrick Moments on Schitt’s Creek

The end of “Schitt’s Creek” brought us many laughs and many tears. But most importantly, it brought us David and Patrick’s wedding! Cue more laughs and more tears, please. David and Patrick have the best relationship on the show, and share so many beautiful moments together. Ever since the couple got together at the end of season three, fans have been eagerly wondering what the end game would be for these two - and the series finale didn’t disappoint. We didn’t think anything could top Patrick serenading David back in season four, but their wedding came pretty close. And it also brought more serenading. Keep at it, Patrick!

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.

Alex Standall & Charlie St. George , “13 Reasons Why” (2017-20)

Eleanor Shellstrop & Chidi Anagonye, “The Good Place” (2016-20)
These 2 Are Soulmates in the Good Place &r the Bad Place

#1: Danielle "Dani" Clayton & Jamie
“The Haunting of Bly Manor” (2020)

Love can be scary. Even haunting, some might say. But the second instalment of Netflix’s horror anthology series was more moving than horrifying, in large part thanks to the relationship between Dani and Jamie. The two meet while working at the titular manor, and brave some truly spooky events together – all the while dealing with the fallout from Dani’s previous relationship. While there’s certainly tragedy laced throughout their story, Dani and Jamie choose to live their life together unapologetically in the end. Death can’t get in the way of these two, and they DEFINITELY ain’t scared of no ghosts.
